Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

Hi it's Maria.
Keeping in the theme of our weekly challenge from yesterday I made another type of gift card to share with you. This one is called a pop-up gift card and I thought I'd give you a little tutorial incase you haven't made one before. Hoping you will try this and enter one into our challenge this week!

Outside of Card
(Standard A2 Card)
Unfortunately, it is hard to photograph projects sometimes and you can't see that the brown frosting is all sparkles on the cake.
Inside When Card is Open

Start with a 8.5" x 5.5" piece of cardstock and score at 4.75".
This will be your card base--a regular A@ card.
You will then need a 6" x 5.5" piece of cardstock that you will score at 1.5", 3", 3.75", 4.75", 4.75" and 5.5". IMPORTANT--make sure you are scoring on the 6" side of your carstock. It won't work the other way.
Fold your lines as follows:
Add your adhesive as follows: you can see where my sticky tape is on the green paper.
Insert your pop up into your card!
Here's a sample I made in white to show you the finished inside. Card is flat when closed.
Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Coming In For a Landing

I just love this little neighborhood!  The houses are so cute and well kept - it's called WC BirdhousesWC Blue Bird Left is coming in for a landing.

I stamped the images on Xpress card stock and colored with my Copic Markers. For the subtle sky background, I scribbled B34 onto a non-stick surface, spritzed with alcohol and picked up color with a paintbrush.  I used a short horizontal stroke back and forth on the card stock. I had to add alcohol often to get the flow I wanted.

The colors I used are:  0, B34, B91, B95, C1, C3, C5, E08, E09, E31, E35, E70, E71, G40, G43, Y11, Y13

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!

Friends Fur Ever!

Happy Monday Everyone!
My card today is using Friends Fur Ever . These little birdies look like they are really good friends with the kitty.
I colored them with copic markers and added some ribbon, rhinestones and flowers along with some papers I dug out of the ole paper stack. This little kitty must have a great life to have friends like these little guys!

Christmas in...June?

I know traditionally you hear the term
"Christmas in July" but I was
flipping through my Art Impressions
index binder and saw several
Christmas stamps that I ordered after
Christmas so I haven't used
them yet.  This one was too
cute to wait any longer.

The image is called Shepard and Sheep (sku J745)

Well, I guess it's official.  I started Christmas even before the
stores this year!  Actually, I do make Christmas cards all
year round.  If I didn't, I would never be prepared in time.
Plus, I just think they're a beautiful style of card to make.
Look how sweet this little guy is...

 Supplies:
Spellbinders dies
Copic markers
EK Success border punch
Star punch

Watercolor through a Window

I had so much fun water coloring Monique last week, I decided to continue with watercolor this week!  This card features window back and garden window.  The card measures 4.25" square. The design papers are from BasicGrey. I used a Cuttlebug folder to get those dots on the front of the card, and added a little bling with a Sakura glitter pen.

I stamped each image with a VersaFine onyx black ink pad onto 140lb hot press watercolor paper, sprinkled with black detail emboss powder and heat set.

As with Monique, I used a combination of direct and in-direct methods of adding coloring with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  In-direct = scribble color on pallet, pick up color with water brush and spread. Direct = color directly onto paper and then spread with water brush.  TIP: If you are ever at a loss for what colors to use on your image, go to Art Impressions and bring up the image. Almost all the images have color  at the site.  There are also many, many, many....many cards and projects using Art Impressions images at Pinterst. A great source for inspiration!

Another TIP:  When I cut out images, I use a black marker to darker the edges. I just run the marker along the inside and of where I cut.  I stamped a partial image on the inside and colored with markers.  I used my computer to print out the sentiment.

Hope you are making today an awesome day!!

Thanks for visiting!  Please stop by tomorrow and see Crystal - she always has great ideas!  Also, this week's challenge is going to be a good one!!

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!

This is me at work! LOL! I love these stamps with the great sentiments about "Naps". This one is great!
I colored her with copic markers. I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesda . I really like how it turned out. I love these papers I found at Craft Warehouse when I was up there a few weeks ago.
The stamps are from Asleep On The Job . You can hope on over there and check them all out!

Happy Graduation

Next week is graduation day at our local high school.
In honor of all the graduates I thought I'd share
a graduation card today.

I've used one of the new Whoots stamps
and masked off his birthday hat. I then just
cut a grad cap out of some black scrap paper.
The tassel is a piece of yarn.
and inside I used a verse from Five Whoots Set sku#4128.
