I'm So Sassy by Janet

The Laugh Lines sets from Ai often feature a main character and lots of fun sentiments that are perfect for them. Such is the case for my card today. This is made with the 5517 - Sassy Laugh Lines Set. As I was looking it over I thought to myself that it was too bad I had to limit myself to a sentiment or two as there are 17 total to choose from! Then I remembered that I had a Reveal Wheel Die Set from Lawn Fawn that would allow me to us more. It did the trick!

I created the card base using the dies and then stamped four of the sentiments into the reveal wheel window. A quick rotation of the wheel displays four different sentiments as shown. I chose to use the "Crazy!?" sentiment at the top as it seemed like a good statement for her. I colored the lady with pastel pinks and lavenders with a little bit of beige for her coat and hat. She's really a hoot as is all of the Laugh Lines characters!

To make the finished panel, I added the fussy cut lady with foam tape. The sentiment window works just perfectly and appears to be a speech bubble for her. I place strips of paper to form a floor and then added a bow and some dimensional stars to create the scene. She certainly thinks she's a star so they are a fitting embellishments! To finish, I glued the panel on a pink shimmer paper rectangle and then to a white A2 card. This sassy lady is ready to strut her stuff!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope my card gives you some ideas of your own. Please visit the store to see all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Have a GREAT Saturday!

Time to Par-tee by Janet

Hi everyone! Are you a golfer or know someone who its? I love golf. As it happens, my city will be hosting the Wells Fargo Tournament in a few weeks. I get to go for a day and I can't wait! I am celebrating by making a card in anticipation of a great time watching golf. The images I used for this is from 4902 Par-Tee Golfers Set. I couldn't resist putting the name of the golf club on the cart in honor of the tournament. Adding special touches like this are one of the things that I think make card making special!

To make this card, I stamped the golf cart with the man, the hole with the flag, and the ball on a tee and colored them with Copic Markers. Then I sketched and colored the stone path. All it needed to suggest the golf course were some sprigs of grass made from a stamp in 4051 - Foliage Set.

The panel is 4 1/2". The mat is 4 3/4" and I the card base is 5" square. Once I had the layers in place and attached to the base, I heat embossed and cut out the sentiment on matching cardstock. Once it was attached, the card was complete!

Thanks for stopping by today. I truly hope my card gives you some ideas of your own. Please visit the store to see all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Have a GREAT Saturday!

It's Been a Tough Day! by Janet

Have you ever felt like this lady? Oh, I know you have. Many times. Maybe even today! I'm feeling this way right now. My baby is graduating from High School and I'm on a terror cleaning up the house and getting ready for his open house. Between work and preparations, this pretty well represents me about 9 PM lately. Oh well. It's a small price to pay for having a happy celebration. I will say I have something a little stronger in that cup than coffee! Don't judge. My knees hurt! LOL.

This stamp is called 5518-Hot Mess Laugh Lines. I also used the 5061-Square Double Stitched Dies to cut out the main image and the mat. The sentiment is from the set. I cut it out with a die in the 5543-Journal Template Die Set. It's just one of several sentiment dies that are useable beyond journals.

Once in a while, I like to paper piece something into a stamped image. Today I stamped, cut out, and glued in the pattern for the chair with patterned paper. In this case, the paper pattern is way better than I could draw and color and I think it adds a lot to the image. It's very simple to do and has a great effect. I used a leftover piece of the paper under the image to tie it all together. I had a relatively small piece so I tore the edge at the bottom and cut a small piece off the top of it. Then I glued the thin piece at the top to give the illusion that it's underneath the whole image. It's a great way to fool the eye when you're short of paper! It can also save you from wasting paper by covering most of it up!

Copic Markers Used:
Jeans: B95, B93, B00
Top: E47, E44, E43
Shoes: C1, C0
Skin: E01, E00, E000
Cup: YR24, YR16, YR14

Spring Means Flowers (and bikes)! by Janet

Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods. I took out my bike and got her ready for the season. I washed the dust off from storage, added air to the tires and checked my breaks. Then I took her for a spin. It was so nice to ride through the neighborhood with the wind in my hair. Yay for biking season!

So - I had to celebrate by making this fun bike card using 5186 - Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set. This bike is just the best! I created the road and brick background using wide washi tape. I added the basket of flowers, heart banner, and bow from 5493 - Front Porch Valentines Set. The sentiment is from 5734 - Friend Sentiments Set. The main panel was cut with the 5063 - Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies to get a stitched edge.

What do you like to do in the spring? Use what makes you happy to inspire your card making. You are sure to find something to help express it with Art Impression sets.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop by the store soon for all your card making needs. While you're there, make sure you check out the entire Cubbie line.

Wishing you a very crafty day!
