"UGH" Aging by Dori Mendiola

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

A new release came out yesterday and boy, is it a good one!  Okay, let's be honest, aren't they ALL?  This one included new alphabets and numbers, a new Easter stamp set and papers as well as a set of belly bands.  Make sure to check out the Art Impressions website.  Lots of fun new items!

My card today features the new #5910 Large Alphabet letters.  Have you ever purchased word dies only to wish you could adjust them by adding another letter or making up your own word?  Well, these letters are the perfect size to create your own word or spell it the way you want to.  Actually, I should have put another couple of G's to emphasize the word "UGGGH".

I started out by stamping the image from the #5518 - Hot Mess Laugh Lines set onto copic friendly paper with Memento black ink.  I then colored with my copic markers listed below.  I stamped the image again on a piece of pattern paper from the #5892 - Easter S2 PP and fussy cut the chair so that I could paper piece onto the image.  I cut the image with a circle die from the #5726 - Nested Circle die set and matted onto a scallop circle die I had in my stash.  I die cut 2 of each of the letters U, G, H and the exclamation mark from yellow cardstock.  I layered each of the letters together for added dimension.  I stamped the sentiment from the #5278 - Dance It Out set and cut with a banner die I had in my stash.  I mounted the banner sentiment onto a piece of yellow cardstock and fussy cut it for a matted banner.  I then took a 5.5" square piece of pattern paper (stripe) and mounted it onto yellow cardstock.  I did the same for the top layer 4.5" square piece of pattern paper.  I then assembled the card together and staggered and overlapped the letters to add more fun to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!
Have a wonderful day and keep creating!

Coffee and Chocolate Gift Packet

Hi everyone! I've been busy making little gifts for my office mates. My coffee and chocolate pack is a fun way to give something small. It's also easy to tuck a little gift card in the pocket if desired. The featured image on this is from 5518 - Hot Mess.

This set features a full chair with a lady that's passed out on it. I don't know about you, but about this time in December, I feel a lot like this tired lady. I bet you can relate too! I used only a small portion of this image on my gift pack and the sentiment is also from this set. I used 5726 - Nested Circle Dies to cut out my image in a circle. The chair is a piece of patterned cardstock. To use it, I stamped on it, cut it out, and glued the pieces in place leaving room for the lady.

The packet is folded from a 6 x 6 piece of cardstock. The finished size is 4 1/4" square. Inside I have tucked a single serving Starbucks Via coffee pack, a Ghiradelli Chocolate Snowman, and a mini spoon from the Dollar Tree. It perfectly fits the challenge going on now called Teeny Tiny. You can link up any small project on the blog for this challenge and it's really fun.

Thanks so much for joining me here at the blog today. As always, please visit the Ai store for the products I used and all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy creating!

It's Been a Tough Day! by Janet

Have you ever felt like this lady? Oh, I know you have. Many times. Maybe even today! I'm feeling this way right now. My baby is graduating from High School and I'm on a terror cleaning up the house and getting ready for his open house. Between work and preparations, this pretty well represents me about 9 PM lately. Oh well. It's a small price to pay for having a happy celebration. I will say I have something a little stronger in that cup than coffee! Don't judge. My knees hurt! LOL.

This stamp is called 5518-Hot Mess Laugh Lines. I also used the 5061-Square Double Stitched Dies to cut out the main image and the mat. The sentiment is from the set. I cut it out with a die in the 5543-Journal Template Die Set. It's just one of several sentiment dies that are useable beyond journals.

Once in a while, I like to paper piece something into a stamped image. Today I stamped, cut out, and glued in the pattern for the chair with patterned paper. In this case, the paper pattern is way better than I could draw and color and I think it adds a lot to the image. It's very simple to do and has a great effect. I used a leftover piece of the paper under the image to tie it all together. I had a relatively small piece so I tore the edge at the bottom and cut a small piece off the top of it. Then I glued the thin piece at the top to give the illusion that it's underneath the whole image. It's a great way to fool the eye when you're short of paper! It can also save you from wasting paper by covering most of it up!

Copic Markers Used:
Jeans: B95, B93, B00
Top: E47, E44, E43
Shoes: C1, C0
Skin: E01, E00, E000
Cup: YR24, YR16, YR14

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop by the store soon for all your card making needs.

Wishing you a very crafty day!

I'm Probably Late for Something Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a new card created with the 5111 - Loads of Fun Set. I love dogs and this little doggie sleeping on the laundry pile is just too cute, he looks so comfy!

To create this card, I stamped the little dog & laundry with black ink and colored the image with Copic Markers. I also added little designs to the laundry with a white gel pen, I love the extra details!

For the sentiment, I stamped "I'm probably Late for something" from the 5518-Hot Mess Laugh Lines Set below the colored image. I like the clean & simple look and this greeting fit perfectly in the space!

Lastly, I attached layers of red and yellow card stock, gold foil paper, and a cute dog-themed pattern paper to complete the project. This card makes me happy and I can't wait to send it to someone special!

I hope you enjoyed today's card and are having a great day!

Coffee Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a coffee-themed card created with the 5518 - Hot Mess Laugh Lines Set. This stamp set includes one main image a large variety of fun sentiments to customize your project. I can honestly say that this lady looks the way I feel after a busy week.

For the stamping, I used black ink and colored the lady with Copic Markers. I stamped the image a second time on to plaid pattern paper and cut out the arm chair to give a fabric look. This is a fun way to add texture to the chair and I love the plaid design!

I wanted it to look like she was sitting in house, so I used a ruler to draw the wooden floor planks and molding. To add some color to the walls, I ink blended with Distress Oxide ink before stamping the sentiment with black ink. I like that it looks like a spotlight in the center of the card and the blue tones are so pretty!

Lastly, I added layers of yellow, green, and blue plaid paper before attaching the card to a white card base.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and are having a wonderful day!

Hot Mess Laugh Lines - Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI fans!!

My card today features Hot Mess from the Laugh Lines series at Art Impressions.  It comes with so many amazing sentiments that fit this poor distraught woman!  This reminds me so much of my two daughters that have younger children! LOL! They definitely have these types of days.  And the sentiment I chose to use on this card is so perfect! I have said for years that my hard drive is full, so if I want to save anything else, I have to delete a file first. LOL!  I'm sure many of you can relate.

I stamped her with Memento ink onto cryogen white paper and colored her with Copic markers which are listed below.  I then used AI double stitched circle dies to cut her out. The big scalloped edge was created using a super old punch I have had for so many years. And then of course I added a bow using some May Art ribbon and my Bow Easy tool. The stripe in the chair was achieved simply by using my Copic blender pen. If you're just learning about Copics, the blender pen isn't used at all to blend colors. (I know, right??!!)   I call it my little bull dozer as it actually pushes the color out of the way. So it's very easy to create designs or patterns in an image using it. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today and until next time - stay crafty!!

 Hello Ai fans!

There's a super fun challenge going on here on the blog called Tickle Our Funny Bone!
Click the "Current Challenge" tab above to be taken to the page.

I've made a card using the new Laugh Lines set called 5518 – Hot Mess Laugh Lines.

This fun set (that's SO relatable) comes jam packed with 18 sentiment stamps that coordinate perfectly with this image!

The mug is colored to match one that I have.  As much as I LOVE the smell of coffee and coffee themed cards I don't actually drink it.  All of my mugs are for soup or holding candy and art supplies.

Our new challenge is Tickle Our Funny Bone.

The new challenge is perfect for the new releases (as are most all of the previous releases!)
We're looking for projects that make us giggle.

Art Impressions recently shared 3 new releases that are exactly what make us laugh!
You can check them all out here.

Now that we've announced last weeks winners, let's introduce our new design team feature and Janet's darling feature!  She created this fun card that, let's face it, could be so many of us!!

Hello Ai fans! Today I'm making fun of my own frantic lifestyle for the Tickle Our Funny Bone challenge using the new #5513 Hot Mess Laugh Lines set. This set features a lady who has had a morning! She's collapsed into her favorite chair and has even spilled some of her most sacred energy drink - coffee or tea. Or maybe it's a little wine?? Who knows for sure? There are a huge number of sentiments included in this set. In total there are 18 possible thoughts this exhausted lady could be having! You're sure to find several that fit what you're envisioning.

To start this project, I first stamped the lady in Memento Black ink on to alcohol ink friendly cardstock. Her pants look a lot like my favorite sweats. They are purple with a white stripe on the sides so of course that's how I colored these pants! After I colored the entire image, I scanned it with my Brother ScanNCut and cut it with just a white border. You could also easily fussy cut this image or stamp and color it directly on a panel. There are many ways to get a similar result. By the way, I've included the entire list of Copic markers I used at the end of this post.

Before starting the background, I also colored and cut out a clock and a wall light from 5324 MB Wall Accessories Set. These little accessories are perfect for my scene. I decided to use patterned papers to create an interior home scene for wallpaper and for the wood flooring. I cut and glued the pieces onto an A2 sized panel knowing I would cut a smaller piece out with a Square Double Stitched Die. Even though this wastes some paper, I am ok with it because it eliminates the stress of making sure the paper edges were perfect. I selected the second largest die in the set and laid out my pieces to make sure I was happy with the proportion of wall to floor.

I stamped a sentiment on the panel that is the story of my life. It says, "I'm sure I'm late for something." I'm sure some of you can relate! I applied the finished panel on an aqua colored metallic cardstock cut with the largest Ai Square Double-Stitched Die. Then I glued that piece onto a chocolate brown A2-sized card base. Now my lady was ready to be enter stage right!

Below is a closer look at my tired lady. I get a real chuckle out of her. I hope you do too.

Copic Colors Used:
Skin: E000, E0, E04, E11, E21
