Friendship Polaroids - Art Journal by Nina

Hello crafty friends, Nina here and today I am starting a new journal in which I will color the Windows sceneries from Art Impressions' Windows Stamp Sets. Each page will include a window scene in a polaroid picture frame and the theme will be Friendship.

For the journal pages I used the largest die from the Rounded Rectangle Double Stitched Die Set which is perfect for my Polaroid Picture to fit in with some decorations and a sentiment.

I stamped the Window scenery image from Island Window Stamp Set using my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and my Mini Misti and colored it using my Copic Markers.

Shades:

Green Combos: YG03 & G43, YG23 & YG25, YG67 & YG17, G09 & G14

Orange: YR24 YR04

Yellow: Y17 & Y08

Pinks: R22 R14

Blues: BG13 BG15 BG11 BG10 B01 B04 B00

Browns: E99 E29 E19

Grey:C1

To create the polaroid picture I cut the image using the square die from the Shadow Box Windows Die Set and placed it on a scrap of paper that I cut using my paper trimmer measuring: 2.75 inch X 3.25 inch and placed my image towards the top of the rectangle to make it resemble a polaroid picture. I backed my polaroid picture with a foam scrap and attached it to the journal base.

I stamped the sentiment from the Friendship Sentiment Set on a banner I cut using a die from Journal Template Die Set. I also used multiple mini dies from the same set to decorate all around my art journal elements. I also added couple heart shaped enamel stickers.

I used my disc bound hole punch to make three holes on the top of my art journal page and added three discs to attach more future pages that I will create.

Fabulous Flowers challenge with an all occasion card by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

Today I'm showing you an all occasion card that fits perfectly with the Fabulous Flowers Challenge that is going on right now! For my card, I used #5450 Blooming Window Set along with 5408 Shadowbox Window Die.  I love that Bonnie created this Shadowbox Window Die that works with every single Windows to the World stamp set (and there are lots!!) It really gives a wow factor to a card, but it's so easy and quick to use! And I do love dimension in a card, so this one is perfect! I stamped the images onto Cryogen White paper and colored them with Copic markers. Then simply cut them out with the dies and popped them inside the window frame! The Hello die is included in the Shadowbox Window Die Set! I just cut two of them and layered them to create a shadow look.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and until next time - stay crafty!!

Let's go fishin'!!! by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

My card today features one of Art Impressions Windows to the World stamps. If you're not familiar with this line of stamps, do yourself a favor and check them out HERE! There are soooo many to choose from and they make such an impressive card! They even include the sentiment which is written around the images. Can't beat that! The set I used today is M4588 Pleasures Window. I also used 5408 Shadow Box Window Die,  4900 Reel Great Guy Set for the fish and sentiment, and a couple of the adorable freebies you can get with a qualifying order at Art Impressions! This card also goes along with the current Windows to the World challenge going on over on the AI blog right now! Hope you  join us for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice! All the images were stamped onto cryogen white paper and then colored with Copic markers. I'm super sorry!! I failed to write down the markers I used for this card! My apologies!

So that's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time - stay crafty!

Now that we've announced our winners from the last challenge, let's check out what Janet has made for our new challenge!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Ai Fans! It's Janet and I'm here today to kick off our latest challenge - Windows To The World. This is both easy and hard. Easy because there's so many great Window To The World stamps to choose from and hard because there's so many to choose from! Ultimately I selected one of my favorites, M3310-Heart in the Park

Before getting into the details, here's a closer look at the finished Windows To The World image all colored up and on the card. It sure makes me yearn for warmer weather and a day in the park soaking in some sunshine! I also love, love, love that huge heart balloon. Wouldn't that be fun to receive?

To begin, I made a white A2 card base by folding an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock in half. I cut a panel of patterned paper to 4" x 5 1/4." Then I used the square die in the 5408-ShadowBox Window Die Set and cut it out of the patterned paper. I place the cut patterned paper on the white card front and traced the open square on the white cardstock. Then I removed the patterned paper and cut out the window in the card base, being careful to secure the die so that the square was perfectly placed. I glued the patterned paper on the card front to create a perfect window in the card. You could save some time and cut the patterned paper and white cardstock out all at once but I prefer this method to avoid indenting the card with the edges of the die. In this case that doesn't matter that much because I cover up the edges of the window.

One of the fun things to do with the Windows To The World stamps is to pair them with the 5408-ShadowBox Window Die Set. It cuts a window frame and a window sill. For this I chose a white woodgrain cardstock for a clean look. After cutting, I glued the pieces in place. This not only creates a perfect setting for the stamped image but finishes the raw edges of the cut square.

A great feature of the ShadowBox Die Set is that it includes a mechanism that will create a reverse pop-up element for the stamped image. When it's attached behind the window, it gives dimension by appearing to be a more realistic view into the window for the scene. I folded it as shown and set it aside to work on the stamped image which will be attached.

Next, I stamped the image and cut it out with the included die in the WindowBox Die Set.

I colored this fun stamp with the Copic markers shown here. Additionally, I used V17, V15, V12 and V01 on the park bench. These are little scenes but are full of wonderful details.

I glued the finished image to the Pop-Up mechanism and attached to the inside of the card as show. Be sure you test the placement to confirm you can fold the mechanism flat for mailing but that it will also pop back up when the card is opened.

I wanted to make this a Valentine so I used dies from 5072-Block Letters Die Set to cut the word Love out of chipboard. I cut the letters again out of matching paper from the same pack as the patterned paper on the card front. I glued the paper to the chipboard to make thicker letters with more substance.

I cut out and attached a wide lacy border and glued it to the bottom of the card. I placed the letters on top. Finally I added a few heart shaped enamels for accents.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed my project and that you have been inspired to enter our Windows To The World challenge!

Valentine Windows by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing two Valentine cards that I made.
I kept these small at 3 3/8" xx 4 1/2" because I wanted to
use the border die from the 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.

The red and white striped hearts were made with a die from the Journal set as well.
The Hello die comes with the shadowbox frame set.

The window frame is from 5408 – ShadowBox Window Die.

The Windows to the World set is called M4586 – Memories Window.
I chose it for Valentine's day because of the two birds.  They made me think
of love birds.

I also used a page die from the Journal set.

Art Impressions Shadow Box Window Die with Windows to the World

 Hello AI Fans!

Can I have all the Windows to the World fans raise their arms? Woah! I felt that gush of wind all the way in Reno!  So if you have a collection of Windows to the World stamps and are looking for something else to do with them, you can stop right here.  Bonnie came out with a Shadow Box Window Die Set that works with every single Windows to the World stamp you have! Every single one! I don't know about you, but I absolutely love shadow boxes!! So I took one of my WTTW stamps that I had to have cause it reminds me of my little Shih Tzu, M4584 Day Spent WTTW.  I stamped it onto Cyrogen White paper and colored it with Copic markers. Then used the Shadow Box Window Die Set to cut it out.  It actually cuts out the stamp leaving the sentiment surrounding the image behind. I love how it looks!!  There are new stamp sets that go with the new die set that contains an extra image, but it also works with all your old WTTW images too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you have a great week!

Christmas Front Porch by Reneé Matarese

 Hello Ai fans!

I have a 5489 – Front Porch Christmas Set easel card to share with you today.

This is an add on set to the 5512 – Front Porch Door Set series.

Most everything on this card is from the Front Door set or the Christmas Door set.
The snowy yard was made using heavily textured white paper and adding some Diamond Dust to it.

This is a fun, interactive set and the door opens and closes if you want it to so you can hide a little surprise behind it.

The window was made using the 5408 – ShadowBox Window Die that I trimmed down and just hid the seems behind other elements.

The snowflakes are from 5353 – Large Snowflake Dies set and I used real fabric for the curtains.

I used my Glistening Snow Writer to add snow to the sills and ledges and some stickles on other elements to make them sparkle.  The snowflakes were cut from glitter paper.
The house front was embossed with a folder called M-Boss 3D Embossing Folder EF3D023 from Nellie's Choice. (Brick Wall)

Shadowbox Sledding Window Shaker by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai fans!
Today I have two similar cards for you.
The first one is a shaker card using the 5408 – ShadowBox Window Die.

My card was created for the Buttons and Bows challenge on the blog right now.

My buttons and bow were made with dies from the 5318 – MB Envelope Dies and 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.

Inside my window is the 5454 – Sledding Window Set.

My second card used the same window and shadowbox die.  This time I used the actual shadowbox portion to give it dimension.  I also have the little snowman popped up to add more depth.

The sentiment is from 5566 – Christmas Sentiments and is stamped on paper cut from more dies from the Journal Template set.

Below you can see how 3D this shadowbox window is and the best part is, it folds flat for mailing!

I hope you'll enter something in the Buttons and Bows challenge!
You could win a free stamp set.
