Our fabulous Watercolor Design Team created some wonderful samples to get your creativity flowing.
Dot is leading things off this weekend.
Hello,
How wonderful are these Cape Cod houses and Village new stamps from Ai? I love them. One of these days, my husband Tad and I are supposed to go explore the Eastern coast. If you would like to make this card, stamp the house from the 5524 Cape Cod Houses Set inked in Memento London Fog ink. The fence is from the 5473 Seagull Set inked the same way, then colored with Tombow 992 and a little N45. Use a ruler and pencil to draw the water line. Use the pencil to draw in the sand line. Use the pencil to draw rocks on the chimney, shutters on the windows and lines on the roofs. Draw a flag pole and flag with the pencil then color the blue in with the 526 and 856 for the red stripes. Stamp the dots from the 5009 Mini Flower set inked in 856. The foliage is from the same set inked in 249. I drew little pots under the porch flowers using the pencil then colored them with N45. Use the grass from the 4051 Foliage Set 1 inked in 249 by the fence and around the bottom of the house. Use the dots and 856 and 569 to stamp flowers above the grass. Use 992 to color the sand and 569 to color the water. The sky is colored with 526. The birds are stamped from the 5473 Seagull Set inked in 569. Color the shutters, door and roofs with N45. Use a fine tip black pen to draw lines on the shutters. Use 992 to color the house. Use the blue TwinTone fine tip to color in the windows. Use 569 to add shadows under the eaves of the house and under the flowers and fence. Cut it out with the 5062 Rounded Corner Rectangle Dies.
Dot has been quite busy this past week and has a few other cards for you.
Tricia also created some lovely examples with the new sets.
Finally, we have a beautiful card from Karen.
Thank you to our DT for all of your hard work and beautiful inspiration!
You've left us longing for a vacation on the coast or in the mountains.
I know there are a lot of motorcycle fans out there or you have family and friends who love to ride. You might be surprised to know that Art Impressions has a fantastic set that includes great motorcycle images for the special people in your life who are, "Born to ride!"
5044 Born to Ride includes this awesome motorcycle dude and it also has a sidecar complete with a lady rider. It's so adorable! It that wasn't enough, there is also a very cute riding lawn mower image with another guy and a whole bunch of sentiments to go along with these images.
I created this scene by using the 5463 Slimline Die Set to cut a white panel out of alcohol ink friendly paper. I stamped the rider 1/3 away up from the bottom of the card and then I used a C9 Cool Gray Copic Sketch marker to draw and fill in the winding road. Then I used the small and large grass stamps from the 4051 Water Color Foliage Set 1 and several colors of green ink to fill in the areas on each side of the road. It was very easy to make this scene and I think it has a sketched look that fits well with the rider.
I colored the rider with Copic markers and then I heat embossed two of the sentiments from the set on white cardstock. I used a punch to cut out the oval shapes and attached them to the card. I added Glossy Accents to the headlight and his sunglasses for a little extra shine. The final touch was to use a fine tip black marker to sketch USA on his bandana.
Thanks for joining me today for a ride on the wild side!
Tasha here sharing a card created with two of the new 2022 Freebie stamps. The Ai Freebies are always so cute and this little Fox and Bunny are perfect for a Spring card!
I stamped both of the sweet critters with black ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I think these two work great on a card together and I love the little bunny with her basket!
To create a background, I used a cloud stencil with bright yellow ink and markers for the grass. The sentiment is from the 5186- Enjoy the Ride Set and I used orange ink to coordinate with the cloud color. I also added some orange ink around the edges for extra color.
Lastly, I added a little pink heart and layers of pink glitter, carrot pattern paper, and green card stock before attaching the card to a light pink (4-1/2" x 4-1/2") card base.
I hope you enjoyed today's card and are inspired to make a Spring card with the Ai 2022Freebie stamps!

Now that we've wrapped up our previous challenge, let's announce our new challenge!
We're looking for creations that feature anything the floats, flies, etc. Balloons, birds, butterflies, airplanes, insects...anything up in the sky!
Lynn has an amazing, beautiful, butterfly card for your inspiration. We love her colors and her pops of gold.
Hello Ai Fans and welcome to our new Blog Challenge!!!
Todays feature card was inspired by the current Ai Blog Challenge which is to create a project that features something that flies or floats....think birds, butterflies, airplanes, balloons, kites or anything else you can think up! Just have fun!
Watch video tutorial here!!!
We will be creating an elegant square butterfly card! Let's start with the beautiful butterflies from the Ai Butterfly Set (5200). We will be stamping and embossing these butterflies using a super fine detail white embossing powder. This will give our butterflies and elegant look! In todays video I will be showing you a simple and fun watercolor technique to color these butterflies by using our Distress Oxide Inks. Today we will be using the brand new Distress Oxide Ink in Saltwater Taffy along with some Picked Raspberry. These two colors will combine beautifully!
Next, with those two Distress Oxide ink colors we will do our background. To start, we will use some clear embossing ink with a gorgeous floral stencil and then apply that same super fine detail white embossing powder. Once the stenciling and embossing is done, we will then do some ink blending with our blending brushes.
For a bit more elegance we will add some pretty gold metallic layers and some delicate two-tone pearl gems!
I'll show you how to create a matching square envelope using an envelope punch board! I love coordinating a beautiful envelope to go with my card creation...and your friends and family will love it too! Just keep in mind that these square cards do cost a bit more for postage...but I plan on hand delivering mine to a special friend!
Please join us in our new Blog Challenge....we would love to see your creations!!!
Thank you so much for joining me today! Have a fun and crafty day!!!
Besides our newest challenge there was also a wonderful new Watercolor release at Art Impressions yesterday. You can see all of the new Spring 2022 releases here and check out Bonnie's WC Wednesdays for a sneak preview of the new releases a day ahead of time!
I love the month of April, the colors, the weather, the cuddly critters we tend to use during this month to create our cards, and this posting is no exception.
Look how cute!
I said it in a prior posting, this stamp set is amazing. Honestly, this is a perfect example why I love Ai. The artwork is unreal, and the dies! trimming to perfection with hardly any outline. I love it. I genuinely feel the warmth and sweetness when I look at this card. Cheesy, I know, but true.
I chose watercolors because I find them easier and faster than Copics plus the texture and color of the paper works perfectly with this set. I also wanted a background without taking away from the cute koalas, so I opted for eucalyptus leaves in the same color as the background.
To complete the whole vibe, I added one of the koalas from the set on the inside of the card.
Hope today’s posting rouses your senses and steer you to find warmth and happiness in your own art
Here we are Ai crafters, another Fun challenge awaits: Up, Up & Away
I have two cards today; both using the Ai Owl flutter stamp and die set. However,
I decided to use the dies differently. My feature card and also my favorite,
is a flying owl among the trees.
Let’s get started!
The background is simple, but you must plan ahead!
Color and assemble the super cute Owl as instructed in the packaging,
I also added glossy accent to the eyes and pom pom on the hat
Trim an A2 card panel
Color and die cut any tree branch die you have in your stash and glue onto your card panel
Die cut the circle frame in the middle of the prepped panel to create a seamless transition throughout the card
Pop up the cut panel and the middle circle onto a card base. Glue down the circle frame as shown ensuring all branches align properly
Insert a penny between the popped panel and circle frame. Add foam onto the back of the owl and adhere to the penny. Make sure it can clearly travel around the circle
It took me a few tries to perfect this technique, if you struggle with it, you are not alone!
Just keep trying! So worth it, cute and fun!
Let's move on to my second card, another interactive card, a spinner card, with a hidden message behind the owl.
The owl is truly the star of the show, love it!
Hope you join the challenge and post your creations!
