Prayers for You by Janet

The flu and cold season has been pretty brutal so far. Sometimes prayers and special card is just the thing to let someone know you are thinking of them during a hospital stay for any reason.

This card is from the Matchbook line and it's called 5499 - MB Get Well. It features a hospital room with cheerful touches of flowers, card, and blankets. I colored the images with Copic markers after stamping them. I cut the pieces out with the included dies and then placed them inside the card base 5317 - MB Template Die. I also cut a coordinating envelope made just for these tiny treasures from 5318 - MB Envelope Dies.

The papers for the card base and envelope are from 5955 - Encouragement Paper Pack. I chose the friendship pattern for the envelope, and I love that it's an option to use as a reminder of friendship to the recipient. All folded up and in the envelope, this card is an incredibly small 2" x 2 1/2" packet. All cards from the matchbook line are incredibly charming.

Thanks for joining me on the blog today. As always, find your favorite stamps, dies, papers, and accessories at the Ai Store!

Let Them Eat Cake (and 🧁s) In The Coffee Shop! by Janet

Sometimes, it's fun to switch things up! That's exactly what I did with this adorable Coffee House Matchbook card, opting for a bit of watercolor magic. While these matchbook cards look fantastic colored with markers, pencils, or even Crayola crayons (I've tried it!), watercolors offer a unique charm. The small images are perfect for adding just a touch of color and shading to achieve stunning results, no matter what color medium you choose.

For this card, I used the 5403-MB Coffee Shop matchbook set, which is packed with all the delicious coffee and baked good images you'd expect from a cozy coffee shop. In fact, I created this card specifically for the "Let Them Eat Cake" challenge. The scene subtly features cupcakes and a large cake, perfectly meeting the challenge's theme. To emphasize the cake theme, I added a sweet sentiment from the 5866-Mini Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

I used Tombow markers from the Ai store for this project, blending the ink on an Ai Watercolor Palette with water before applying each color. While watercolors often yield soft, pastel shades, I wanted to show that you can absolutely achieve vibrant, bright colors with them—and you know I love bright colors in my cardmaking!

To create the base for your matchbook cards, you'll need the 5317-MB Template Dies. This is a one-time purchase that perfectly cuts the base card, making all future matchbook sets incredibly affordable. And to complete the package, I crafted a perfectly sized envelope using the 5318-MB Envelope Dies. This die ensures all your matchbook cards have a custom-fit envelope to match!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to find your favorite stamps, dies, papers and accessories at the Ai Store! You'll always find something that calls to you.

Happy crafting!

Happy World Bee Day! Mini Matchbook Easel Birthday Card and Envelope by ReneƩ Matarese

Hello Ai fans and Happy World Bee Day!!

I LOVE bees and celebrated by making a tiny little bee easel card in their honor.

My card nestles nicely in the Matchbook envelope.

I used the MB Template to create my easel by trimming off the side panels and gluing part of it closed.
Follow along below if you'd like to give it a try.

I started by taking the MB template die and cutting my designer paper to fit the middle section vertically.

I trimmed the tiny bit off that hung over the edge.

Next, I flipped it over and glued the lower part down making sure that there was no glue on the tab. The tab will be popped up to keep the easel propped once that's added.

I then folded down the top portion after creasing the score lines.

Then I glued the little square panel I created, ONLY to the little scalloped section.  You need the other part to bend so that it's propped up.

I stamped one of the little sentiments and my card was good to go. It fits perfectly into the MB Envelope because the base is cut from the MB Template die. Such a cute little card.

Copics used:

B21, N0, G14, E31, Y08

Twintones used:

Chocolate, Yellow, Black

Pet Shop Matchbook Card by Janet

I'm back this week with another new Matchbook card. It's called 6016 - MB Pet Shop. And this one sure doesn't disappoint! The details of all the little critters and birds are pretty incredible. Mice, dogs, cats, fish, birds, bunnies, and even a gerbil make this card so very cute for any animal lover. It even includes reptiles with a cheerful turtle and frog. I'm glad there's no snakes but if there were, I'm sure somehow it would drawn in the most cute way.

This card is made using the base card set used for all MB image sets. It's 5317 - MB Template dies. I used heart patterned paper from 5741 - Valentines Paper Pack. I used a coordinating heart paper from the pack to cut out an envelope using 5318 - MB Envelope Dies. I decorated the envelope with a bow cut from a die in the set to decorate my envelop too. I folded the envelope following the score lines that the die pushes into the paper and decorated it with a paper bow and red pearl heart.

Making a MB card is easy. I started by stamping the images from this set on alcohol ink friendly paper. I colored using my Copics and then used the dies to cut the pieces out. The dies score fold lines in the pieces so they can be easily folded and glued into the card base. Once done, you simply fold the card base together, making sure to tuck in the stamped images. Then you can insert it into the envelope and it's ready to give away! The MB series creates so many wonderfully whimsical scenes. You are sure to find a theme that will delight anyone in your life. Best of all, no matter their age, they will find delight in them.

Thanks so much for joining me here today and I hope you enjoyed seeing my matchbook card. As always, please visit the Ai Store for the products I used and all the things for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy Creating!

New Matchbook - He is Risen by Janet

Hello my fellow card makers! I hope you are having a great day. I have a treat for all of us that love the Matchbook Card Series from Art Impressions. Several new designs are now available! Yay! I chose the new 6015 - MB Cross & Tomb set to feature today.

This set tells the story of resurrection and it shows the moment when the women came to prepare Jesus' body after death. The rock in front of the tomb is moved away and the tomb is empty. So much is packed into this tiny scene from the women making their way, to the crosses on the hills of Golgotha, to the empty tomb. It has instantly become one of my favorite sets in the series.

This card goes together like all the Matchbook set. They all fit into the card base made with 5317 - MB Template Dies. The pieces from each matchbook set are made to fit perfectly in this card base which means you only have to buy that part once. The 5318 - MB Envelope Dies is great to have as well. It makes a perfectly sized envelope for all the matchbook cards. It is the perfect way to present and store these tiny creations.

Thanks so much for joining me here today and I hope you enjoyed seeing my matchbook card. As always, please visit the Ai Store for the products I used and all the things for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy Creating!

Love Fur-Ever! MB Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new card created with the super cute 6016-MB Pet Shop Set. Art Impressions recently released four (4) awesome new MB sets, but this one has to be my favorite! I love animals and the variety of cute animals in this little shop scene is fantastic!

To create the shop, I used the 5317-MB Template Dies and two different pieces of pattern paper. The plaid walls with the dark wood floor seemed like the perfect decor for a happy little pet shop. I also added two little windows to bring in more detail; the Template Die Set includes two styles of windows, so you can pick the perfect one to customize your little scene.

After all the sweet animals were colored, it was time to assemble. The MB Pet Shop's included dies cut and score the pieces to make it super easy to attach to the base. Every time I complete one of these MB cards I mention how amazed I am that there is so much detail in this tiny design, it really is awesome!

Lastly, I cut the greeting out and attached it to the front of the card. I also created a small envelope in a coordinating pattern paper to complete the project.

I hope you enjoyed today's card share and will take a peek at the new MB sets. If you haven't tried making one of these small cards, give it a try, I'm sure you will love the final result!

Have a great day!

Easter Bunnies MB by Dori Mendiola

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

The new matchbooks are here, the new matchbooks are here!!   If you haven't seen them yet, they were released last week and there are four new ones.  Bonnie outdid herself again!  Today, I have the #6014 Easter Bunnies matchbook set to show you.  These are sooo fun to color and create.  A little card in a little package, who can resist?

I stamped the panels onto copic friendly paper with Memento black ink and colored with my copic markers listed below.  This one I colored with lots of bright fun colors.  Who doesn't love Easter and all the bright beautiful colors?
I die cut the panels with the corresponding dies and adhered it all together using pattern paper from the new paper pack #6010 Basic Pink PP.  You will need the #5317 Matchbook template die to assemble these little cards but the die works for all of the matchbook sets.  If you don't know how these go together, check out Bonnie's tutorial - Matchbook tutorial - Bonnie Krebs

These little matchbook sets then fit into this little MB envelope #5318.  Soooo cute!

I hope you enjoyed my card for today and you try out these fun little miniature cards.  There are over 30 different matchbook sets.  You are sure to find one that fits for your perfect someone.

Have a great day and happy creating!!

Christmas Town Matchbook Magic! by Janet

Hi everyone! Did you hear that Art Impressions has collaborated with Simon Says Stamp to create a brand new matchbook card set that's exclusive to Simon? This is an outdoor scene in the village theme. It is absolutely adorable and so fun to color.

This card goes together like all the matchbook cards. What is unique is that it's an outdoor scene instead of an indoor one. I like it and hope we'll see more of them in the future. To make it, you'll need to head over to Simon Says Stamp to pick up the 5950 - Christmas Town MBE Set. It can only be purchased on their site and once it's gone, it's gone. You'll also need 5317 - MB Template Dies. This is used for every matchbook card so if you have it already, you don't need another one. I also highly recommend you pick up 5318 - MB Envelope Dies. This makes the perfect envelope for all the MB cards.

For my matchbook card base, I cut a base using the Template Dies out of a pattern included in the 5963 - Winter Woodland Paper Pack. Then I stamped, colored and cut out the interior pieces of the scene with the Christmas Town MBE set. I cut a few mini snowflakes in silver glitter cardstock as well. Then I folded all the elements on the score lines made by the dies and glued everything in place. I just love this scene and how cheerful it is!

Thanks so much for joining me here at the blog today. Don't miss out on this one! Make sure you pop over to the SSS store and pick up this set along with any other MB templates you might need. Then get creating! And as always, please visit the Ai store for the sets I used and all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy creating!
