Bunny Hugs & an Easter Matchbook by Karen Day

 Hello Ai Watercolour fans!

I have a couple of bunny-themed projects today, incorporating several of the newest releases.  First up is the 6008 - Bunny Hugs Set.

I started by stamping the bunny, basket and carrot on some smooth watercolour paper, using Versamark Onyx Black ink.  *This was different for me, as I usually stamp with Tombows, but I thought I'd give the black outline a try.  I also wanted to create a background scene, so stamped the wagon from 5597 - Harvest Wheelbarrow Set, then added flowers and foliage from 5825 - Geranium Set and 5919 - Long Stem Floral Set with a little masking.

I painted everything using Tombow markers picked up off of my palette, using layers of colour to achieve the darker shades.  I created a wash of #126 to create the grass, and a wash of #526 for the sky.  After painting the flowers, there was still a lot of white space between the leaves, so I painted in some yellow flowers and darker foliage, then used a black fineline marker to outline my daisy-like shapes.  I also used the marker on the grass to add a few lines of definition. I die cut the Bunny Hugs pieces using the coordinating dies, and adhered them to my scene with varying thicknesses of 3D foam adhesives.  The sentiment is from 5867 - Mini Easter Sentiment Set stamped with Versamark Onyx Black.  I used the 5061 - Square Double Stitched Dies, and the 5132 - Tag Stitched Dies to cut out the scene and sentiment, narrowly matting both with periwinkle cardstock.

My card is 5 1/2" square, and I used the new 6033 - Inspirational Easter PP for the background papers, with the scalloped edge die from the 5543 - Journal Template Die Set on one of them.  I popped up the image after tying a white organdy ribbon into a bow underneath it.  A few irridescent jewels finished things off.

My second project is the sweet new 6014 - MB Easter Bunnies Matchbook set!  I adore making the Matchbooks as they're so wonderfully tiny!

I stamped the five images and sentiment onto some smooth watercolour paper, and painted everything in an Easter colour theme using Tombow markers picked up off of my palette, then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  To create the base, I cut the 5317 - MB Template die from the new 6011 - Basic Teal PP, and cut out the tiny windows on either side.  The Ai papers are so perfect for Matchbooks, as they are two sided, coordinating prints.  I cut the small rug die from the 6010 - Basic Pink PP and glued it onto the floor, then glued all of the pieces in position as shown.

The 5318 - MB Envelope Die was also cut from the 6010 papers to make a cute little matching envelope.

**Bonus Third Project!**  I'm adding this one at the last minute... I had several extra pieces from the 6008 - Bunny Hugs Set that I had already cut out and painted up...

I had the idea to use the new 5910 - Large Letter Die Set, so I cut it out of some pretty paper from the 5939 - Fairy Garden PP.  After cutting out the letters, I cut them out again from plain white cardstock, which I glued underneath, before gluing the patterned paper letters back in place.  It provides just a subtle texture to the letters, and keeps the focus on the bunny.

The colours that I'd painted on the egg clashed a little with my project, so I just went over the stripes with Copic markers to slightly change from pink & yellow, to be purple and green.  You could easily make this a personalized card by spelling out a family member's name, or just use the word Easter - so many possibilities!

New Matchbook - He is Risen by Janet

Hello my fellow card makers! I hope you are having a great day. I have a treat for all of us that love the Matchbook Card Series from Art Impressions. Several new designs are now available! Yay! I chose the new 6015 - MB Cross & Tomb set to feature today.

This set tells the story of resurrection and it shows the moment when the women came to prepare Jesus' body after death. The rock in front of the tomb is moved away and the tomb is empty. So much is packed into this tiny scene from the women making their way, to the crosses on the hills of Golgotha, to the empty tomb. It has instantly become one of my favorite sets in the series.

This card goes together like all the Matchbook set. They all fit into the card base made with 5317 - MB Template Dies. The pieces from each matchbook set are made to fit perfectly in this card base which means you only have to buy that part once. The 5318 - MB Envelope Dies is great to have as well. It makes a perfectly sized envelope for all the matchbook cards. It is the perfect way to present and store these tiny creations.

Thanks so much for joining me here today and I hope you enjoyed seeing my matchbook card. As always, please visit the Ai Store for the products I used and all the things for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy Creating!

Baked with Love! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions fans!

Tasha here sharing a matchbook card created with the new 6013 - MB Bakery set. I love baking, so this set has quickly become a new favorite!

I enjoy making these little cards and I'm always amazed by the amount of detail in this small package. I had a lot of fun coloring the individual cupcakes, breads, and the little pie; so cute! I also liked mixing pattern paper to create the walls and floor, this totally looks like a bake shop!

The best part of these MB sets is that you can mix and match pieces from other MB sets, or add little stamps from non-MB sets to really customize the design. The possibilities are endless!

Thank you for checking out today's project and I hope you are inspired to create a matchbook card. Be sure to check out the Art Impressions shop to see all the new designs, I know you are going to LOVE them!!!

Time to Celebrate! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new card inspired by the current "Keep Calm & Celebrate On!" Challenge. For my project, I used the 5226 - Bus Cubbies Set and the 5319 - MB Birthday Set to create a fun mini card.

I love all the Cubbies and MB stamp sets and thought it would be fun to use the MB set in a different way. I started by stamping three images from the MB Birthday Set and used a scissors to cut off the foldable sides. I used glue to adhere the table and shelf to the card and added some foam tape behind the gifts to give them some dimension.

Next, I stamped the little animals from the Bus Cubbies Set and used the included dies to cut them out. The Bus Set also included balloons, so I cut several out and attached them around the room; so festive! I really like how these two sets work perfectly together!

Lastly, I stamped "Make a little wish" from the MB set with black ink on to a blue background. I also attached layers of purple and pink card stock and a pretty silver glitter paper layer to complete the design.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you will join in the Art Impressions "Keep Calm & Celebrate On!" Challenge.

Crafty Friend Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new card created with the 5322 - MB Craft Room Set. This card also goes with the current Ai Challenge theme "Never Have I Ever" since this is the first time I used this fun set.

I think these little MB sets are so much fun to create with and it always amazes me how much detail are in these tiny cards. I started by selected a piece of Art Impressions pattern paper and cut the base with the 5317 - MB Template Dies. This die set also includes the dies to cut the little windows and frames, I love the windows!

To add a little extra cuteness to the room, I attached a little kitty stamp from the 5324 - MB Cat Accessories set. This cat looks adorable sleeping on the chair!

Lastly, I folded the card and inserted it into the coordinating MB envelope. The envelope has scored lines that fold easily to fit the MB card and includes a little bow die to decorate with. I just love how this project turned out and look forward to gifting this to someone special.

Thanks for checking out today's card and I hope you are having a great day!

Celebrate Someone Handy! by Janet

Hello crafty friends! Like many, I just ADORE the Ai Matchbook line. Bonnie just keeps finding creative scenes to add to the lineup and I love every single one. This spring, she added 5729 - MB Tool Shed. I am so happy to have a truly masculine Matchbook design. This is perfect for birthdays, Father's Day, and as a congratulations or thank you card.

To make this, you need the Tool Shed Set and the 5317 MB Template Die Set. The Template creates the card base and it works for every MB set. I also made an envelope for it using another optional accessory, 5318 MB Envelope Dies. The red paper is from 5741 Valentines Paper Pack. It's proof again that the paper pads can be used for just about any occasion!

I think this is a card any handy guy (or gal) would really enjoy getting. It's small enough that it can be displayed in their handy space too. It's one of the things I love about these cards. They are small enough to display anywhere and anyplace since they are barely over 2" square when folded.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop by the store soon for all your card making needs. While you're there, make sure you check out the entire Matchbook line.

Wishing you a very crafty day!

Chicken Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a Spring themed Matchbook card featuring the super cute 5731-Chicken MB Set. The Ai Matchbooks are always fun to make and it's so amazing how much detail fits in this little package!

All of the images were colored with markers and were cut with the included coordinating dies. I also used pretty purple star pattern paper to make it look like a night scene and added green plaid paper for the grass. I love the way the patterns help make the little scene and the green and purple look great together!

Lastly, I attached the included "Spring Chicken" greeting to the bottom flap and added the sweet hens to the top flap to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and are inspired to make a fun Matchbook Card!
