Pop up arch card Retired and Rehydrated by Sharon Caudle

So I have almost reached my one year retirement and I will just say that I do love a good cocktail! HAHA  So I had a blast making this card. It's a dimensional card that lays flat so it's easy to put in the mail. To start with, I stamped #6075 Cruisin' Carol onto a Copic friendly cardstock. After coloring her, I cut her out with the included die. A few daisies from #5925 Honey Bee Set framed her nicely with a strip of grass and a few clouds. The sentiment from #6077 Loungin' Linda fit perfectly on the banner from #5809 Decorative Journal Page 2. It's actually my favorite banner die. The printed papers are from #6033 Inspirational Easter PP. The margarita glasses are just dies I had in my stash, but I thought they went perfectly with the card.

To create this card, you just want to create as many different size layers of your arches (or any shape) and then attach them with an open ended box like you can see in the picture below. You just want to make sure they aren't wider than the panel you're attaching to the front of it. So with these arches, I cut one panel that measured 3 1/4" x 3 1/4".  The second piece was cut to 3 1/4" x 2 1/2. Both pieces were scored at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4", and 3". fold into a long box by adding adhesive to the 1/4" flap. 

This shows how it folds flat to fit into an envelope.

Set Sail with Cruisin' Carol by Janet

Some Ai sets really speak to me more than others. Such is the case with the Ai People release last year called 6075 - Cruisin' Carol Set. 

Carol is living her absolute best life on a tropical vacation! With her floral dress, straw hat, and a drink in hand, she is the definition of "vacation goals." One of my favorite features of this stamp is the built-in pattern on her dress—it makes adding a fun, vibrant design to her outfit completely effortless.. 

To begin, I created the pop-out card base. It folds flat but when displayed the middle section pops forward. I cut two of the same patterned pieces to fit the left and right side and used another piece for the middle panel. I used a cheerful yellow cardstock for the base and matted the scene portions on light blue cardstock. 

I stamped, colored, and cut Carol and her suitcase. Then I mounted these figures on the middle panel. Finally I stamped the sentiment in blue and matted it with yellow. The scallop shapes for the sentiment were cut using the 6048 - Scalloped Rectangle Dies. 

I created this card for the current "People In Your Neighborhood" challenge. There is still plenty of time to join the fun! I can’t wait to see which "people" stamps you choose to bring to life.

Vacation Vibes! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions friends! 

Tasha here sharing a card inspired by the current Art Impressions Challenge. I used the fun 6075 -Cruisin' Carol Stamp Set to create a bright tropical scene that feels like a relaxing beach getaway.

For the background, I cut a scalloped rectangle from the 6098 -Cruise Paper Pack. This paper is awesome and has some of the cutest patterns for cards and projects. I love all the designs included in this cruise-themed paper pack!

To continue the tropical theme, I stamped the sentiment “Vacation Vibes” onto a simple white banner and attached blue and white striped patterned paper. This pattern always makes me think of summer days and beach vacations.

To finish the card, I added layers of golden yellow, white, and bright blue cardstock to coordinate with the colors throughout the scene.

I know I probably sound like a broken record, but oh my gosh...I can't believe August is more than half way through! To me it feels like summer has just begun but the kids are already back in school! Wow! My card I'm showing you today fits right in with the current challenge "Sports and Leisure". I'm featuring #6075 Cruisin' Carol.  I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto a Copic friendly cardstock and then colored her with the markers listed below. Do you love staycations as much as I do? Carol is definitely on a staycation in her own backyard in this card! That's me...give me a cocktail and my awesome patio, and I'm in heaven just relaxing in my chair! This was so easy to make! I just inked a cloudy summer sky using a stencil and then added a strip of die cut grass. Unfortunately, my fence kind of blends into the sky, I should have used a different color of cardstock instead of white.

Cruisin' with Carol - A Z-Fold Card Adventure! by Janet

I've been having an absolute blast working with the new Art Impressions People sets! Each one features a delightful lady enjoying herself, complete with perfect sentiments and matching dies. But almost best of all, there are coordinating paper packs that provide the most ideal settings for each of these fabulous ladies.

Today, I'm showcasing the charming 6075 - Cruisin' Carol along with the perfectly themed 6098 - Cruise PP. I created a simple z-fold card base from kraft cardstock and then got to work using the cruise paper pack to create my backgrounds. On the front fold, I cut a piece featuring a vibrant food buffet, and stamped the "Vacation Vibes" sentiment right on the table. For the inside, I pieced two identical background pieces together to stretch the scene lengthwise across the panel. I simply cut each panel to the same height and butted the pieces together tightly when gluing them down. I even used a 3/4" punch to capture the sun from the paper since it wasn't in the ideal spot for my background and then glued it where I wanted it. You'd have to look incredibly close to notice this isn't one continuous piece, and I was really happy with how that technique worked!

Next, I cut out a piece of blue cardstock and inked its edges before stamping another sentiment, "Out of office, out of cares!" I then fussy cut an extra cake and cupcake plate from a leftover piece of the buffet background and glued it to the sentiment, just overlapping the corner a little.

Now for the star of the show: Carol! I colored her with Copic markers, giving her suitcase a fun leopard pattern. I glued the bag into the scene and then placed Carol with foam pads to give her a little height and added dimension.

I absolutely love how this card turned out and can't wait to make even more fun cards with Cruisin' Carol!

Seas the Day! Card by Tasha

Tasha here sharing a new card created with the 6075-Crusin’ Carol Set and the 6098-Cruise Paper Pack. I’ve been loving all the new Ai People sets, and this one is extra special to me; I LOVE cruising!

For this project, I went with bright tropical colors; perfect for a Caribbean getaway! One of my favorite parts of cruising is trying all the fun fruity drinks, and Carol is definitely on cruise control with her frozen cocktail in hand. Time to kick off that vacation!

The background came together super fast since it’s one of the awesome pre-printed sheets from the Cruise Paper Pack. Just add Carol and you’ve got an instant vacation scene; I love how easy and vibrant it turned out!

To finish the card, I layered tan, white, and navy cardstock along with a fun anchor-patterned paper to match the cruise theme. I also added one of the included sentiments to tie everything together.

Are you in love with these new Ai People as much as I am??

You must be. They're so easy to love.

For my card today, I used the new 6080 – Birdie Betty.

I love some of these papers from the 6072 – Father’s Day Paper Pack for the sky and grass. These 6x6 paper packs are all so versatile. The sentiment was stamped on the center banner die from the 5463 – Slimline Dies Set and is actually from the new 6075 – Cruisin’ Carol. Betty's glasses and earrings are gold and they were done with a Signo Pigment Ink Gel Pen – Gold.

I didn't have the paper pack in time but check this out!!

There is a 12 pc. (6 designs) paper pack to coordinate with Betty.

Vacation Vibes! Card by Tasha

Tasha here, and today I’m excited to share a new card featuring the fabulous 6075-Cruisin’ Carol Set. I absolutely love tropical getaways, and Carol is clearly all set for sunshine, relaxation, and a fruity drink or two!

To start off, I stamped the fun Carol image along with the little suitcase using black hybrid ink. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out before coloring with Copic Markers. I kept the color palette vibrant and tropical, and to match the theme, I created a beach-inspired background using layers of patterned paper. For the center card, I used the 5063-Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies to give it a clean, polished edge.

To add a bit of sparkle (because who doesn’t love a little glitter?), I layered in some silver glitter paper. Once that center piece was complete, I built up the rest of the card using dark purple, white, and lavender cardstock, along with a gorgeous floral patterned paper from Ai. The purple flowers really caught my eye and inspired the purples I used in Carol’s outfit; so fun to coordinate everything!

For the finishing touches, I stamped “Vacation Vibes” onto a small banner and added some white gel pen accents to highlight a few details to complete the design!
