Winter Wishes! Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Art Impressions friends!

Tasha here sharing a card inspired by the current "Under the Dome" Challenge. This challenge is all about shaker cards and I thought is was a great time to make a Christmas shaker card.

My project features one of the penguins from the new 5929-Christmas Train Set. This set has several cute penguin stamps to choose from and this little guy was the perfect size to fit inside the plastic dome. I also created a little snowy background before adding the winter themed sequins; these colors are so pretty!

After my shaker was completed, I added a sparkly silver glitter layer, a scalloped red frame, and layers of black card stock, silver glitter paper, and a candy cane pattern paper. I also attached a snowflake pattern paper from the 5963-Winter Woodland Paper Pack to coordinate with the scene.

Lastly, I added a simple "Winter Wonderland" greeting before adhering the card to a white card base.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you will join in this fun challenge!

Mousey Christmas! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new holiday card featuring the super cute 5564-Mousey Christmas Set. Now that we are in the month of November I have been busy working on this year's holiday cards. Art Impressions has so many cute holiday sets, but this little mouse is adorable and so much fun to color!

The little mouse image was stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I used the included dies to cut the him out and attached him to the card with foam tape. I love the hot cocoa cup filled with whip cream, marshmallows, and candy canes; I would totally enjoy this warm drink!

To complete the card I attached a simple holiday greeting and layers of red and teal card stock, a pretty silver glitter paper, and a piece of Art Impressions holiday paper. I also adhered several white enamel dots to complete the design.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you are having a wonderful day!

A Christmas Bouquet & Scene by Karen Day

 Hello Ai Watercolour Fans!

It's November, so I'm in full holiday card making mode... first, I have a Christmas bouquet to share:

I stamped the jug from the 5923 - Farmhouse Container Set in N55 on the smooth side of my Canson XL Watercolour Paper.  I like to create my bouquets from the bottom up, so I used the two pine boughs from 5830 - WC Mini Wreath Set in 249/565, and between them, stamped the round pinecone from 5472 - WC Christmas Wreath Set in 969.  Using my stamp positioner, I placed the smallest bloom from 5828 - WC Poinsettia Set coloured in 847/837.  The rounded leaf sprig from 5472 was added in 312, and the holly from 5829 - WC Holly Set and the berries from 5828 were both added in 177.  Finally, Bonnie's favourite twig from 4964 - WC Branches Set was tucked in on either side using 969.

After pulling out all the colour with a damp brush, I painted in each leaf, adding shadows with 565 where needed.  I painted layers of grey on the container, keeping the center area light or white, to be the highlight.  I added just the suggestion of a background with a wash of 565, and used it with N55 to provide a shadow behind the jug.  I added a few touches of gold to the berries and poinsettia centers with my gold gel pen.  I used the 5065 - Oval Double Stitched dies to cut out my image, and created my background using the 5962 - Classic Christmas paper pack.  The sentiment is from 5566 - Christmas Sentiments Set.

My second card is the wonderful 5818 - SF Snowman scene - these are so great, as with just one stamp, your entire image is just about stamped for you!   I stamped mine in N55 onto my Canson XL Watercolour paper, and pulled out the colour with a damp brush.

After masking the house, I added my trees in using the evergreen from 5826 - WC Large Tree Set 2 in 249 - sometimes only colouring the top portion, to create a smaller tree.  I also added the spiky wreath from 5830 - WC Mini Wreath Set in 312/249 to the gate, and drew in a bow with my 856 marker.  I painted a wash of N55 on the house to be a pale grey shade, and drew in the siding with my pencil. N25 was used for the shutters, awning, dormers, lamps and his hat.  847 was painted on the door, his scarf and on the chimneys mixed with a little 969 to be more of a brick shade.  992 was painted on his coat, and 991 was added directly to the window panes with the marker.

565 was used to add in the sky, and to paint in the sidewalk.  I used it to add shading to the snowman, and under and around the tree branches and eaves.  After softening the trees with a damp brush, I used Bleedproof White paint to add snow to the branches, roof and around the sidewalk, as well as to add icicles to the roof and it was dotted to suggest falling snow.  A final touch was to add a little chunky glitter on some of the snowy surfaces.  Background paper is from 5962 - Classic Christmas, and the sentiment is from 5566 - Christmas Sentiments Set.

Next Stop the North Pole! Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Art Impressions Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new holiday card featuring the 5929 - Christmas Train Set. Today is the first day of November, so it's time to get a jump start on holiday card making and this set is perfect for this year's Christmas cards, gift tags, and craft projects!

This set includes the coordinating dies and you can mix and match the train cars to fit your project. I decided to create a slimline card and wanted to use as many little penguins that I could fit; I love penguins!!! My favorite part was coloring the little hats and scarves, I made each one a different color and used a white gel pen to give a knitted look.
For the greeting, I embossed "Choo-Choo Merry Christmas" directly on to one of the train cars and love how the bright white color pops against the dark red. To go with the holiday theme, I colored the train in shades of red & green and attached holly to three cars for extra detail.

Lastly, I added a a night sky and white paper for the ground to resemble a snowy hill; I like the Winter night look. To continue with the holiday theme, I attached layers of black and red card stock, and snowflake pattern paper. I also adhered little peppermint shaped enamel pieces to the train's wheels and added red glitter to the berries to complete the design.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you enjoyed a peek at the new 5929 - Christmas Train Set.

Have a great day!

Watercolor Weekend with Ruthan and Simone!

Hello Ai fans!

Welcome to Watercolor Weekend.

This weekend we have something a little different for you.

Jami needed to take some personal time off so we are sharing two cards from some special guest designers.

First up, we have Ruthan Plant who has been an Art Impressions fan for several years and co-founded the Facebook fan group The Art Impressions Way along with Kathy Acres.

Ruthan created this darling Christmas card.
I think we all can agree. There are few things cuter than a puppy in a Santa hat.

She painted the inside of her card as well, which is such a professional touch.

Ruthan was kind enough to show exactly which images from the sets she used helped create her adorable card.

Our next special Guest Designer is Simone Carr.

Simone has been very busy for us behind the scenes lately.  She will be our featured Monthly Guest Designer for November because she won our September, We Don't Use Enough Purple Challenge. Stay tuned to see what her challenge will be. Her card today gives you a little hint.

She will also be our November Watercolor Weekend artist for Jami next month as well.
You're going to be so excited when you see all of the special cards she has created and I hear there may be more to come! Yippee!

Her little Christmas critter card is just TOO CUTE!
I just love the sparkle, the paper, the frame and the beautifully painted animals.

May I just ask...What on earth did we do before Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof white paint???

Thank you to both Ruthan and Simone for their beautiful inspiration for this Watercolor Weekend.
We hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Be sure to check out all of the newest releases at Art Impressions.
We have a fabulous new line of Christmas and Fall, paper, stamps and dies as well as several new online classes to choose from. Keep in mind that all of the sets in the bundles (which save you money if you want them all) can be purchased individually.

Warm Winter Wishes Card by Tasha!

Hi Ai Friends!
Happy Friday and Happy December! Tasha here, sharing a little holiday cheer with you all. Today's blog post is all about spreading joy with the oh-so-adorable 5802 - Joyful Snowman Set. Now that we are in the month of December, I am actively working on Christmas projects and this little snowman is perfect for cards and gift tags!
I started by stamping the image with some bold black ink, and then the real fun began - coloring! Copic Markers came to the rescue, bringing this snowman to life with pastel hues. But wait, there's more! A white gel pen worked its magic, adding a cozy knit-inspired pattern to the scarf and mittens. I love the pink & white color combination!

And let's not forget those antlers! Adorned with the cutest ornaments, they take the festive factor to a whole new level.

Lastly, I stamped "Merry Christmas" and added layers of pattern paper to complete the festive design. This card is so cheerful and I look forward to sending it to someone special this holiday season!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Christmas Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a holiday card featuring the 4936 - Christmas Wonder Set and new 5782 - Snowflake Frame Die. This project was inspired by the current Art Impressions "Making Spirits Bright" Challenge and I love creating pet-themed Christmas cards!

To make the little outdoor scene, I stamped the animals and used masking paper to cover the image before ink blending the background. I also used colored pencils to add more color to ground and stenciled snowflakes with a glitter paste. I think the falling snow is so pretty!

To frame the center card, I used the new 5782 - Snowflake Frame Die. The frame fits around the trio perfectly and I love the snowflake pattern! I also added paw print pattern paper and layers of green and red card stock to bring in more holiday colors.

Lastly, I added an embossed "Seasons Greetings" sentiment from the 5566 - Christmas Sentiments Set and attached the card to a white card base to complete the design.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you will participate in the "Making Spirits Bright" Challenge!

Dachshund Through the Snow Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new holiday card featuring the Art Impressions 4937 - Santa Paws Set. This design was also inspired by the current "You're Such a Square!" Challenge; it's so much fun make square holiday cards!

To begin, I stamped the little doggie and colored his festive clothing with markers before cutting him out. I also added foam tape and a little light gray shadow under him to make it look like he was jumping in the snow. I think his little winter outfit and the large bell are too cute!

For the background, I used a piece of snowflake pattern paper for the sky and attached a stitched hill for the ground. I also used Distress Oxide Ink for some extra blue color; I think the blue makes the white pop and look more like snow.

The greeting "Dachshund Through the Snow" was stamped with a light blue ink to coordinate with the snowy scene. I also attached layers of black, pink, and blue glitter paper to bring in more color and complete the project.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and will participate in the "You're Such a Square!" Challenge!
