Lovely 3D Cross Card by Janet

I love the newest Bible Journaling sets from Art Impressions, and when I saw the cross card from Iced Images on YouTube, I knew it would be a perfect setting for my favorite Bible Journaling Set, 6055 - Water of Life Set.

This 3D card folds flat to fit in a standard 5" x 7" envelope, which is so cool! I created the base card and cross with mint and light pink cardstock, colors that coordinated perfectly with the pretty designs from the 6052 - Mother's Day Cover Paper Pack.

For the center of the cross, I framed a sentiment within a circle from the 6026 - Frameworks Set 2. I then cut it out with a die from the 5726 - Nested Circle Dies and matted it with a larger circle from the 6045 - Scalloped Circle Dies, which I then placed on the center of the cross. Next, I stamped and colored the charming bird bath image from the Bible Journaling Set. I added some green grass with stamps from the 4051 - Foliage Set, then fussy cut the whole piece and glued it to the bottom right corner of my card.

This is such a dramatic card, and it's quite simple to construct. I think this format will make many great cards for lots of occasions that have a spiritual component.

Swingin' Through Retirement by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

I sure hope you're enjoying your summer! The weather here has been remarkable and I have truly loved sitting outside and enjoying the breezes!! The card I've got for you today is for those golfers we have in our lives. I am very recently retired, so I am just getting to realize the joy that comes with it. I will say though, that the days just seem to fly by!! Nothing like when I was working and the work day seemed to be two days long! LOL!  I used one of the brand new AI People #6080 Birdie Betty!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I ADORE Bonnie's characters!! She amazes me with her talent! I am having soooo much fun coloring up these beauties!!  I stamped her onto a Copic friendly paper and then colored her up with the markers I've listed for you below. I then cut her out using #5727 Nested oval dies and then matted that with #6046 Scalloped Oval Dies.  The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock cut out using #6045 Scalloped Circled Dies and then mounted onto a mat cut with the same set. I added the striped panel matted with a piece trimmed using the scalloped edge die from #5543 Journal Template Die Set. I almost forgot to let you know that I used #5955 Encouragement PP. Isn't this paper just gorgeous??!!

Charming Flowers and Bees by Janet

Hello Ai friends! One of my favorite hobbies is visiting sites with sample cards; I often find amazing inspiration there. Today's card is a perfect example, inspired by one I saw on the Simon Says Stamp blog. While my card is definitely different from the original, I loved how flowers had been crafted using scallop dies, and I thought I'd try something similar. This is the result!

To create these unique flowers, I started by selecting a small scallop die from the 6045 - Scallop Circle Set. I cut six "flowers" each out of a lovely pink pearl and gold shimmer cardstock. Then, I took the smallest circle die from the 5726 - Nested Circle Dies and cut six flower centers from yellow and shimmer gold cardstock. I alternated them, placing yellow circles in the middle of the lighter flowers and light circles on the pink ones. For the leaves, I cut out six larger circles from green cardstock. A handy trick I learned years ago is to fold a circle in half and then cut a leaf shape from it, giving you two leaves from each circle. Every once in a while that old trick still comes in handy!

I attached the flower centers with small foam tape squares and then glued a leaf to the back of each flower. Next, I cut a 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangle from a blue and white checked sheet in the 6091 - Patriotic Cover Pack. I glued this to a 5" x 7" matching blue cardstock base card and set it aside.

Then, I brought out the 5925 - Honey Bee Set and stamped three bees, a honey pot, and a sentiment. I colored and cut out the bees and pot with their accompanying dies, and fussy cut around the sentiment. The final element was the honeycomb border. I stamped this image from the set twice, nesting the two images together as I stamped them. I then outlined each honeycomb cell with an orangish-brown marker and carefully fussy cut the comb with my scissors.

I arranged all the flowers on the checked mat, leaving space for the strip of honeycomb. I glued the honeycomb and flowers down and then arranged the bees and honey pot, attaching them with foam pads for dimension. Finally, I wrapped yellow and white twine around the folded edge of the card base and tied it off with a neat bow. I trimmed any leaves that hung over the card edge with scissors, and that finished the card!

Rusty bucket of daisies by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend and a safe and happy 4th of July if you celebrate! So, who doesn't love old rusty buckets, daisies, and gnomes?! LOL! I created a cute summer scene for you today using several different sets from Art Impressions. I started out using the bucket from 5597 Harvest Wheelbarrow Set. When I stamped it onto my Copic friendly paper, I also stamped another one onto masking paper. After applying the mask, I stamped one set of the daisies from 5918 Floral Long Stem Bouquet Set and also created a mask for that stamp.  That allowed me to stamp another set of them on the other side of the bucket to fill it up. Have you seen the new Winsor & Newton Gold Paint that Art Impressions is carrying now? Gorgeous and so easy to use! I grabbed it and a butterfly from 5981 My Joy Set. I messed one of them up (sad face), but I still love the way they look! I also added the paint to the centers of the flowers, the leaves, and the belt and button on one of the gnomes! I love the glimmer it added to the card!

So that's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and until next time - stay crafty!!
