Sending "Hedge-Hugs!" by Carol Hintermeier

Hell Ai Fans!

Today I have this sweet and quick-to-make card using the Hedgehogs Set.  I really love how this set can be used for more than one occasion and has so many different sentiments!

I stamped the happy little hedgehog in Copic safe ink and colored it with Copic markers (listed below).  I used a Oval Double Stitched die to cut it out.  I also used two of the oval dies taped together to cut out a coordinating frame from green cardstock.  I used the same green cardstock to layer behind the patterned paper.



I stamped the sentiment in black ink and cut it out into a strip with the green cardstock for a layer.  I popped up the sentiment with a few foam squares.  I also added some green enamel dots to two corners.

Hedge-Hugs to You! By Crystal

Hi Ai fans! 

This week I played with this adorable Funny Farm stamp set Hedgehogs. They are just the cutest but I say that about almost ever set I use from Art Impressions. 

I started by die cutting an oval out of smooth card stock with an Oval double stitched die. I first stamped the cute little guy holding the balloon since I wanted him to be in the front. I then masked him off with a full stick post-it note. I then stamped the second hedge hog which is leaning on the cacti planter. I colored them in with alcohol markers. 

I die cut a rectangle using a Double stitched rectangle die. Matted the oval centered on the rectangle. I die cut a banner to fill in some of the blank space on the background. Then I die cut a A2 rectangle to matte everything on which I did off centered to the left. 

I stamped the sentiment bellow the two hedgehogs. I adhered the whole panel to a 5 1/2"x 4 1/4" card base. I thought their was too much white space above the hedgehop sitting down so I added a heart and a couple sequins and that finished off the card today.

Hedgehog Birthday Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

One of my favorite things about Art Impressions is the cute images that give me a good chuckle.  The Hedgehogs set in the new funny farm release had me rolling.  The image I used today is a bit laid back, but I wanted to pair it with the WC Southwest set.  I often forget that I can use my watercolor series stamps with an ink pad.  Do you do the same thing?

The main image with the hedgehog leaning on the cactus was stamped onto the watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and heat set.  I then stamped the image onto a piece of mask paper and cut it out.  When cutting a mask, cut right along the middle of the stamped line.  The mask was then placed right over the image to protect it from the rest of the stamping. I then stamped the pot and the rock from the southwest set with the same ink and heat set the image again.  I stamped the pot onto a piece of mask paper and cut it out and placed it over the pot.  The cactus image from the watercolor set was the last image to be stamped and heat set.  All of the masks were removed.  The greeting was stamped into the top corner. One thing to remember when you are masking a scene is that you want to first stamp the images that you want in the front and work your way backwards.

Now for the fun part!  All of the coloring was done in the same way.  I worked in one section at a time and colored the Tombow markers directly onto the paper where I wanted the color to be the darkest.  I would then add very little water to my brush and add the water to the area that I wanted my color to be the lightest and move my brush into the color covering the entire image.  I did that for all of the same color at one time and let it dry.  Once it was dry it would usually need a second layer of color applied the same way.  I was sure to leave highlighted areas to add life to the images. The colors I used are listed at the end of this post.

Hedgehog - 969 Chocolate, 947 Burnt Sienna, 725 Rhodamine Red
Cactus - 177 Dark Jade, 098 Avocado
Pots - 837 Wine Red, 526 True Blue
Rocks - 969 Chocolate, 526 True Blue
Sky - 493 Reflex Blue

Hello AI Fans!!

Oh my gosh, I am totally in love with #5112 Hedgehogs Set!!!  This little cutie pie is just too precious with his pokey quills popping his balloon! This set is now available over at Art Impressions! I used the Banner Double Stitched Dies to make a very easy shaped card to feature this adorable hedgehog! I simply layered up the two largest sizes and then trimmed a mat for the pattern paper with my scissors.

Today we have Renee to share TWO beautiful cards!

Hello Ai fans!

It's my turn to feature Art Impressions newest release.
Today I'm sharing the latest Work and Play set called
Loads of Fun.

The challenge this week is Shaped Cards and I decided to do a hexagonal easel card using 5135 – Hexagon Double Stitched Dies.

Also, on the inside I used 5064 – Circle Double Stitched Dies

and 5133 – Flag Double Stitched Dies.

I made a second card with another one of the images from the set.

I love dogs so much!  My dogs are both far too large to sneak into the laundry basket but I do occasionally catch them up on the couch where they know they don't belong!

Here's another of the cute verses from the set...and there are MANY!
