See You At Noon With a Latte by Janet

Today I have a quintessential Ai Card with an attitude! It's their cute images and tongue-in-cheek sentiments that originally attracted me to the Art Impression line so many years ago. The slightly irreverent humor just gets me! The set I used for this card is called AiCS40 - Spring Chicken Set. There are three chicken images and several funny sentiments.

The card layout was inspired by a Pinterest sketch which is where I sometimes find ideas when something doesn't pop into my mind. I used several patterns of paper from the 5873 - Mini Birthday Paper Pack. There's a lot of purple hues in these patterns so I chose a dark purple cardstock to use as an accent and dark purple pearls and rhinestones to decorate it. I used 5065 - Oval Double Stitched Dies, 5727 - Oval Nested Dies. and 5724 - Nested Rectangle Dies to create most of the shapes used in the design.

This image is perfect the way it is but I still decided to add some additional touches to it. I sketched lines in the feet and in the hat to give those items a little more dimension and texture. Otherwise, this was a quick image to color since the chicken is mostly white with shadows in gray that I colored in with markers. I used two colors of gray and a blender to soften them. After coloring, I fussy cut the chicken out and popped it up on foam pads. This chicken has an attitude that makes smile. I hope it puts one on your face too.

Thanks so much for joining me here at the blog today. As always, please visit the Ai store for the products I used and all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy creating!

Holly Jolly featuring the brand new Woodland Bears Set by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!

Have you seen the brand new release from Art Impressions? Oh my gosh, I love every single thing! The Portfolio dies, the new papers, the Woodland Bears and Critters, so much goodness I can hardly stand it!! So today my card features this adorable bear and the sentiment is from the Woodland Critters! I stamped the images onto Copic friendly paper and then colored them with the markers which are listed below. It was amazing how quickly this card came together! I also used a gold glitter pen on the scarf so it looks like it has some gold thread going through it. Sorry it doesn't show up in the picture. I used the Copic blender pen on the sweater to give it some texture. Since the set comes with the dies, it made it super easy to cut the bear out and put him in the forest!!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today! Until next time - stay crafty!!

Golf Shop Matchbook by Dori Mendiola

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

Today I want to share one of my favorite AI matchbook sets - #5907 Golf Shop.  These matchbooks are so cute and fun to make for your favorite golfer friend or spouse.  Bonnie did such a great job at including all the golf necessities in this little shop.

If you have never made one of these cute little matchbook sets, you have to give it a whirl.  There are over 25 different sets to pick from on the AI website.  You are sure to find one that is perfect for that special someone.  Just make sure you have the #5317 Matchbook Template dies, as you will need that for the base of this little card.

I started out stamping all the pieces from this set onto copic friendly paper and coloring with my copic markers listed below.  I then cut each of the pieces with the coordinating dies that are included with the set.  Since these images are small, I found that if you pick your colors and then color each item with the lightest color, it helps to see if you have your colors spaced apart nicely before doing your shading.

Bonnie has a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTqXgY0Ebmk explaining how to put these matchbooks together if you need assistance.  As you can see, I forgot to put the window frames on this card, so don't do as I do.  LOL!

If you want to make an envelope for your matchbook card, you will need the #5318 Matchbook Envelope Die.  I made my envelope below with the #5873 Mini Birthday paper pack.  Art Impressions paper packs are awesome.  They are high quality, double sided papers and come is such great color combinations.  The golf bag on the front of the envelope is the same golf bag from the left side of the matchbook.  I just colored and fussy cut leaving off the sale sign and pole.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Enjoy creating!

Stars and Stripes Challenge Happy Birthday by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! As you can see, I took a totally different approach to the Stars and Stripes Challenge that is going on right now. I decided not to go the patriotic red, white, and blue. I love to celebrate the 4th of July like other Americans, but this time I wanted to approach the challenge in a different way. So I chose a striped paper from the beautiful assortment of papers in #5873 Mini Birthday Journal Paper Pack and then grabbed a star balloon from another set, and used 5404 Miss Set from the Hats Off line. I ADORE that hat!!!  I stamped the images and colored them with Copic markers which are listed below.

Schoolhouse Matchbook Scene by Reneé Matarese

 Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!

My package FINALLY arrived.

For some reason, it took a liking to N.J. and stayed there
far longer than it should have.

I was anxiously awaiting it to see if the new little Freebie
Structures would fit in the 5317 – MB Template Dies.
It turns out that they are scaled perfectly for them!
I'm so excited.

In case you're not aware, the freebies are available when you
spend $30 or more. You are able to select your choice of
the current freebies.

All of the papers on the inside are from 5873 – Mini Birthday Journal Paper Pack.

The sunshine is from SC0653 – Beach Babes.

I used various tabs from other MB sets and cut them down to
fit all of the 5889 – Village Vehicles and 5890 – Village Accessories.

Like with all of the MB sets, this will fold up flat for mailing.

I used a combination of Copic, Tombow and Marvy markers and watercolor pencils to color these.

Copics used:
N0, Y02, Y15, G03, G12, G16, G28
Marvy: NO. 12 grey
Tombow Twintone: Black, Chocolate and Strawberry Red
Staedtler WC Pencils: 3, 80
Derwent Watercolour Pencils: Deep Cadmium 6, Geranium Lake 15,

Never too Old interactive card by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!

I've got a fun interactive card to show you today that features a couple sets from the Art Impressions Laugh Lines. If you're not familiar with the Laugh Lines, they come with an amazing image along with a TON of great sentiments that match! I actually used two different sets for this card, and I put it together with a Give it a Whirl die set. FUN! Who doesn't love interactive cards!! This was actually the first time I've made one of these cards, and learned a few things that will help me a lot with my next one. But it really does go together quite easily. You just grab the tab and spin the image around and voila! There's a super short little video below the pics so you can see how it works. The images are stamped onto cryogen white paper with Memento ink and then colored with Copic markers which are listed below.

You can see in the next picture I messed up my pearl drops trying to take pictures of the card. I was able to remove those and replace them without any problem. So it's all good now! :)

Isn't that so much fun??!! I didn't line it up very well on the front, so I learned it's necessary to use a template to make sure it gets lined up correctly so everything is hidden by the top piece. But other than that, it was pretty easy to assemble and it works like a charm! So that's it for me today and until next time - stay crafty!!

Hello Spring by Reneé Matarese

 Hello Spring!!

Well, almost.  We're not "out of the woods" yet where I live. Last April we received a foot of heavy, wet snow on the 19th which destroyed several of our trees. You just never know in the Northeast.

For now, I'm going to choose to believe that bluebirds and butterflies and flowers and bees will be here before you know it!

My card fits with the current Pop It Up challenge here on the blog.
I used several Art Impressions products on my card.
There are 3 stamp/die sets, 1 die set and a paper pack.
Links to everything are below.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and that your Spring will be filled with flowers and happiness. And for those of you who are now coming into the colder months. I'm sorry...lol!  We've done our time here though. Time for some warm weather!
