Happy 10th Birthday Sophia! by Reneé Matarese

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my friend's niece.

She's turning 10 this weekend and loves art.

This is my first time using the new 5502 – Craft Bag and Die Set.

This set is wonderful because it comes with all the dies to cut out the bag and the little art tools.  There are slits in the bag to insert the tools where ever you'd like.

I popped the bag up with foam tape to give the card some dimension and added lots of sparkly bling because what 10 year old girl doesn't love a little pizzazz?!

I cut an extra set of the bag and tools for Sophia to color and create her own project.  My friend said she'll probably copy my colors as best she can.  I had to laugh because, being the first time I've used this craft bag, I also copied the artwork from the package! lol!  Packaging is very important to so many people when first using a set.

Copics used:

Y04, Y17, YR23, E42, R17, R85, RV34, RV63,
BG01, BG02, BG11, BG23, N2, T5

Rock Around The Clock with the NEW Matchbook Diner Set! By Janet Axtman

Hi everyone! Janet here with another super cute card in the Matchbook card line. This epic little set is called 5497 MB Diner. This scene is sooo nostalgic! It's packed with all the details you think of in an old fashioned diner or soda shop. It's got the counter, the booth, stools, sweet treats and even a rockin' neon juke box! I can almost hear Rock Around The Clock coming from this little scene. In fact, it looks a lot like the scenery from one of America's most beloved sitcoms. Aaaay! Thumbs up everyone!

As always, you will need to have the 5317 MB Template Die set to create the base for any of the matchbook cards. You only need one of those babies and you're set for all the matchbook sets. Need an envelope for it? Ai has you covered there too. 5318 MB Envelope Die set makes a perfectly sized envelope for the matchbooks and even includes shapes to decorate it with.

My greatest advice is not to "Sit On It." Order this one up and have a blast with it. There are three other new sets that are definitely worth picking up while you are at it. 5499 MB Get Well is a cute hospital room. 5498 MB Salon is an adorable little hair salon. 5496 MB Chapel is the sweetest wedding venue. These are super for unique gift giving, especially for the people who have it all.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I inspired you to try the new Matchbook Sets. You're going to love the newest additions to this popular line of card dies.

Wishing you a very crafty weekend!

Happy Vibes Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a new card featuring the fun 5458-Llama Set and 5187- Happy Trails Set!

I started by stamping the little llama image and colored her with markers. I love this stamp set, but hadn't used this little stamp yet. This stamp is small, but so cute!

To create the scene, I stenciled a bright orange spotlight and colored a ocean-themed background with markers. I also added a palm tree from the 5187- Happy Trails Set! It's fun to mix and match your sets and think of new ways to use your stamps!

Lastly, I stamped "Happy Little Moments" in a coordinating orange ink before attaching layers of orange, blue and blue marble paper. These colors are so warm and this card just makes me smile!

I hope you enjoyed today's project and are having wonderful day!

Now that we've announced last weeks winners, let's introduce our new challenge and Tasha's fabulous feature!

The challenge for the next two weeks is Home is Where the Heart is!

We want to see your creations that have to do with HOME.  It can be a house, cottage, cabin, a room in a house or even something like Tasha did...these sweet little fairies home.

Now for Tasha's wonderful card and tutorial.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my challenge card, I created a magical scene using the Ai 5345- Fairies Cubbies Set! I love this little fairy house and all the included fairy images!

To begin, I stamped the house with hybrid black ink and colored it with markers. I used shades of pink, gray, and brown to make the card bright, but still have the fairy garden look. I love the steps and all the little details!

After coloring, I used the coordinating die to cut the house out. The die cuts out the entire house and opens the doors and window areas. I think it's so cool when cards are interactive and the door opening allows plenty of space to add little stamped characters.
Hint: You can use wash tape to hold your die in place when cutting.

Here is a peek of what the image looks like after using the coordinating die. You can see the open windows and notice how it cuts around all the areas perfectly!

Next, I colored all the fairy images for this project and I used the included die set again to cut all the images out. I wanted each fairy to look different and since there are several characters, it was easy to give each one a unique look. I also added glitter to the wings for extra sparkle!

Now it was time to position the fairies around the house. I used yellow paper behind the open windows to resemble a lighted room, and attached the fairies with glue runner. I like that there are two fairy images that are sitting down, this way I could have one sitting on the front steps. I just love those steps!

Before attaching the house to the card front, I created a stenciled background. I used light blue ink for clouds and added green grass. I also stamped the sentiment directly on to the card using a matching light blue ink.

Lastly, I attached the fairy house and layers of pink glitter and lime green cardstock. The card was attached to a white card base and I adhered several glitter enamel dots to complete the design.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and will participate in the Home is Where the Heart is Challenge!

Smallest & Cutest! by Mercy Sauer

Hi Folks, Mercy here.  This month’s grand finale features the newly released Match Book Series Chapel set 5496.

This is my first time creating with the Matchbook series. I will admit, at first, I simply didn’t know what to think. Would I enjoy the process of creating a tiny, tiny scene? You all know I love “cute” and really, what is cuter than a miniature card with its own matching envelope?

So, I stamped all the included elements, cut them out using the dies, and before assembling, I was hooked. Seriously, I got pretty excited I stopped a few times while creating the card to show my husband and my daughter. They both said the same thing, “oh, wow, that’s great, and so small”.

Did I mentioned I was hooked? I created two cards! I could make a ton of these. It’s really fun. I am looking forward adapting critters and elements from other sets to create interesting, super cute, super different tiny cards.

Even though I haven't gifted a MB tiny card, I can’t way to do so and see the recipient's reaction.

If you are looking for something truly unique, fun and incredibly cute, check out the Match Book series.

My first example features the new Chapel accessory set. It would be great for weddings, baptisms, communions. They would also make for great handmade party favors!

Here's my second card! no one would ever be upset you forgot "something" if you give them this card...no way!

What do you think? I love them!

Well, this was fun! please tag Art Impressions with your creations, I would love to see them.

Welcome to Our Home by Mercy Sauer

Welcome folks to Ai’s newest challenge, Home is where the 💗is!

This is Mercy and I welcome you back!

My challenge card is subtle! To choose the story for my card, I looked at the sets I have in my stash. When I saw these guys, I knew I had to use them! How sweet are they? An egg carton full of sweet siblings (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)....lol

I created a see-through window (I'm totally enjoying creating windows lately!), did some stamping, some coloring, added a few sentiments, and I was done!

It's simple but it does not lack any charm and I think it would bring a smile to a lucky recipient.

Like always, join our challenge, looking forward to seeing your creations!

Let's Enjoy a Road Trip by Nina

Hello crafty friends, join me today as I share this fun project. My kids and I are planning a road trip right after school is over and I was so excited to create a card that reflects our fun plan.

I used the Holiday Mansion set as a hotel and used images from the Road Trip set to make my fun card.

I stamped the car, road & motel signs from Road Trip set, and the mansion from the mansion set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers.

I cut a panel for the background and sketched mountains, hillsides and a road with a pencil. I cut masks and covered the mountains and ink blended the sky to give a sunset effect. also blended the hillsides the same way after masking thier surroundings.

I used the dies included with the Mansion set to create the windows and the door. I used foam tape to attach my images to the background and stamped Road Trip on a banner that I die cut using the Banner Doubled Stitched Die Set.
