It's a Love Thing - Retracting Reveal Card by Janet

Hi everyone! It's Janet here and I have a retracting reveal card for you today. I really enjoy creating interactive cards. Engineering the elements to pop up, lift and move is very satisfying! I have used a fan favorite set, 4752-Love Thing Set. All the patterned paper is from the 5741-Valentines Paper Pack. After coloring, I cut the image out using the largest square die from the 5061-Square Double Stitched Dies

This card starts flat as shown below. You'd never know it holds several interactive surprises from its unassuming starting position.

When the strings are pulled at the top, the front retracts to reveal a hidden message. My hearts are cut from the 5721-Nested Heart Dies Set. I cut a heart in the white card base and cut another out in red cardstock. Then I filled the negative space by inlaying the red heart. This way I could add color and a shape to the hidden message without creating another layer of cardstock that would catch on the sliding mechanism. I heat embossed the set's sentiment with white embossing powder before I inlaid it into the card base. I used the smallest heart in the die set to decorate the bottom of the card.

Pulling the strings lifts up the cute couple so that it stands and takes center stage. But that's not all! When the string is pulled, it reveals another message on the tag as it's pulled out. This sentiment is from 4999-Perfect Duet. This is also where I would write my message to the recipient. There's plenty of room since the tag will pull out an additional 1 1/2". Tip: If you don't want the ink from the colored image to show as it does on mine, sandwich another piece of white cardstock behind it before gluing it to the lift-up mechanism.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this card. If you would like to learn how to make this style of card, leave a comment. If there's enough interest, I'll do a video tutorial on it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop by the store soon for all your card making needs.

Wishing you a very crafty day!

"It's a Love Thing" Valentine's Day Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a Valentine's Day card inspired by the Ai "You're My Everything" Challenge. For my project, I used the sweet 4752-Love Thing Set to create a Valentine's Day card for someone special.

This set is one of my favorites to use for Valentine's Day; I just love this cute couple sharing a box of chocolate. For the main image, I cut a heart out of white card stock and stamped the couple with black ink. I used markers for the coloring and added a pretty scalloped heart frame. I love the layered hearts!

For the greeting, I stamped "Happy Valentine's Day" from the 4848 - Sweet Wishes MFT Set. I like the script font and the red ink on white paper looks so elegant.

Lastly, I added layers of red and black card stock, gold glitter paper, and a fun heart pattern paper to complete the card. The red, black, white, and gold colors look great together!

I hope you enjoyed today's card and will participate in the "You're My Everything" Challenge

It's A Love Thing Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing two new cards created with the sweet 4752-Love Thing Set.

This set includes one main stamp of this cute couple and a sentiment. Both of my cards are very similar, but I used different colors and made the couple look completely different. It's fun to be creative and I love coloring clothing!
The first card's couple has a deeper skin tone and I used darker colors in their clothing. I also added little hearts to the man's socks for a fun Valentine's Day look. I love the socks!

The second couple has a fair skin tone and I used pastel colors. For the background I created a sky on both cards with a cloud stencil and light blue ink. I also added little ink dots for extra detail.

The sentiment "It's A Love Thing" was stamped on to a stitched heart on both cards. One card has an embossed greeting and one was stamped with black ink and I used Distress Oxide Ink around the edges.

Lastly, I created the ground and grass with markers and colored the benches. I also added coordinating paper layers before adhering the cards to an A2 sized card base.

Thank you for checking out today's project and I hope you are inspired to create a card with the Ai Love Thing Set!

It's a Love Thing - By Crystal

Hi Ai fans!

This week I played with  Love Thing set I love this cute couple sitting on the park bench sharing a box of chocolates. I made two cards to share today.

For both cards I stamped the image with Memento black ink so I could color them in with alcohol markers.

After coloring the cute couple in I fussy cut them out.

On the first card I had a piece of foiled cardstock in my scrap pile so I die cut a heart out of it and stamped the sentiment "IT'S A LOVE THING" onto the heart.

I die cut a double stitched rectangle out of some pattern paper and matted it with a bright pink cardstock. I adhered the whole panel to a 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" card base.

For the second card I did almost the same as the first. The only thing different was a I die cut a double stitched square and added some grass to the bottom to place the couple.

Spectrum Noir Markers:
GT1, GT2, GT3, EB1, EB2, EB3, TN1, TN2, TN4, IG2, IG4, IG5, FS6, FS7, FS8, DR1, DR3, DR4, TB2, TB3, TB4, HB1, HB2, HB3

Happy Stamping!
