Boo!! A spooky Halloween creation by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

It's getting pretty close to Halloween! Are you ready? Do you decorate for the holiday and hand out candy? I love it when all the littles come to the door all dressed up and excited to get some candy!! I even love it when the teenagers come a knocking! I love that they enjoy it and I want them to be kids for as long as they can. Adulthood comes soon enough, so enjoy the heck out of while you're there! So I had a lot of fun decorating up this frame and I confess I used a ton of different sets, but they're all linked below, so don't be shy to go click on them and check them out!! This was really a blast to put together!!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today! Until next time - stay crafty!!

Happy Halloween! by Tasha!

 Happy Friday!

Tasha here sharing a Halloween card featuring the cute owl from the new 5934-Spooky Crew Set. The Spooky Crew Set has quickly become my go to for Halloween projects this year and I love that the set includes little hats to customize your image; I love the witch hat!

To create the background, I stamped the light post from the 5602-Spooky House & Post Set and used masking paper to cover it before ink blending. After covering the image, I masked off the moon area and used several shades of Distress Oxide Ink and water droplets to create the sky.

After the background was done, I removed all the masking paper and attached the Owl and two ghosts. I also added layers of black card stock, gold glitter paper, and Art Impressions star pattern paper to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and are inspired to create a fun Halloween card!

Have a wonderful day!

Spook- tacular Halloween by Janet

Happy Saturday everyone! Halloween is such a great time of year for card makers. Art Impressions has so many adorable Halloween stamp and die sets that are never too spooky or inappropriate. Today I've used the 5934-Spooky Crew Set. I used this one a few weeks ago but I love it so much I pulled it out again. This card looks nothing like the last one though. That's the beauty of Ai's sets. You can use them in so many different ways. Plus there's so much variety. This set would be sold as two separate sets at another company. There's a large spooky house which could be a separate set but Ai puts it together with the images I've used today for a great value. If that's not enough, matching dies are included too!

This is a border flap card. The foreground is a stitched frame from my stash. It includes doors for the windows and I used one of them to hide a message inside. This all fits on the front of a regular A2 card.

Before I cut the frame out, I stamped the pumpkin top and the witch hat in the circles and colored them in to help tie this all together. I added a twine bow to the door and some orange pearl bling. For even more fun, I filled in the yellow grins and eyes of the jack-o-lanterns and the moon with glow-in-the-dark drops. Here's what it looks like when it's glowing in low light. I think it will delight the young or old.

This card was made with the current Ai blog challenge - Not Just Paper Challenge in mind. Here I've used twine, pearl bling and glow-in-the-dark drops. You can enter your cards by including anything besides paper on your card. Easy peasy! Go HERE to post get inspiration from the Design Team and enter your card and a chance to win a free stamp set from Ai.
Thanks so much for joining me to see what I created for you today. Please visit the Ai store for the sets I used and all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Have a great weekend!

Happy Thursday AI Friends!

My card for the "Not Just Paper" challenge is a fun Halloween card featuring the #5934 Spooky Crew stamp set.  I don't usually decorate for Halloween, but Bonnie makes the cutest Halloween stamp sets that it's very hard to resist creating a card or project.  I made a fun-fold decoration using specialty halloween spider web mesh (from the dollar store) as the background.  You can easily turn it into a card by just adding another layer to the back.  This can fold flat and fit nicely into an A2 size envelope.

To create the fun fold, cut an A2 top folding card base out of black cardstock.  Cut another piece of black cardstock 4 1/4" x 6" and score at 1", 3 1/4" and 5 1/2".  Fold this piece on the score marks as a valley, mountain and valley.
To create the background, cut a 6" x 6" piece of the spider web mesh and a corresponding 6" x 6" piece of iron on fusible webbing (which I found at my dollar store).  Iron the fusible webbing onto the mesh.  Let cool and peel the backing off.  Then iron onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of black cardstock.  To save your iron, take a piece of parchment paper and fold in half.  Place your mesh and webbing in between the parchment paper and then iron the parchment paper vs. directly onto the mesh or webbing.

Before adhering the background to the inside of your A2 base, do two things.  1) Adhere the pattern piece to the front of the A2 base and cut the window with the 5062 Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Die.  2) Take your fun fold piece and glue the 1" fold piece onto the bottom on the back side of the A2 top fold base.  Adhere your background to the back side of your top fold base.  Add another piece of pattern paper (striped paper) to the front of the bottom fold.
I stamped the images onto copic friendly paper and colored with copic markers listed below.  I die cut the images with the corresponding dies that are included in the stamp sets.  I then adhered the front 1/2" fold piece to the back bottom of the front A2 card base.  Your project is now ready to decorate with the images that you have colored and cut.  I layered these images and placed the spiders throughout, placing some on the web background.  I tied a black string bow and placed a glow in the dark enamel dot in the middle of the bow.

I hope my project inspires you to join in the current challenge - "Not Just Paper".
Have a great day and keep creating!!

It’s a Spooky Halloween by Janet

Hello Art Impression Fans! I was so excited to see a brand new Halloween set for this fall. Halloween is one of my most favorite holidays to create cards for. Though I’m not into the scary stuff, I do love all the many cute Halloween and fall sets in the Ai store. Today I’ve used 5934-Spooky Crew Set. It includes a spooky house and tree which I used on my card front. Inside I used one of the four adorable critters. Isn't this mouse precious? The set also includes five sentiments. I used two of them in my card.

This card also fits the current challenge, “Keep Calm and Celebrate On.” It's easy to participate in. Any card that celebrates any occasion or holiday qualifies. Go HERE to learn more and find the link to post your card. You might win a free set from Art Impressions! I had the pleasure of being the featured artist for the challenge so check my project out too while you are there.

To start this card, I do what I usually do which is to pick the background paper. Then I picked up colors in it for my images. Since it has tiny raised stars, I felt it could work for a night scene even though there is so much white in it. I colored the house, tree, the adorable mouse, and two accessories - the pumpkin top and a witches hat. Those last two items fit perfectly on the mouse’s head. I chose to put the pumpkin top at the base so that it appears that the mouse popped it off the pumpkin and crawled in. I put the witch hat on his head. It’s hard to get cuter than that! If you aren’t a fan of mice, there are three other choices - a frog, owl, or a cat. There’s definitely something for everyone in this set!

Once the stamped images were colored, I cut them out using the included dies. I also cut grass for use on the front and the back. I inked up the grass that I cut for the front. This helps the layers have a bit more dimension. I tucked the house in the grass and placed the tree next to it. Then to promote the idea of a night scene, I used the 5726 - Nested Circle Die Set to cut a bright green and orange moon, stacked them together, and stamped the sentiment. Then I placed it just under the top of the roof. I added a small purple polka dot bow and three purple gems to finish the front.

Inside I glued in a second piece of grass and tucked in the mouse and pumpkin. SOOOO cute! I glued the hat on his head and tucked the pumpkin top in the grass. Last, I stamped a sentiment. I couldn’t be happier with how this project turned out!

As always, thanks for joining me here today. Don't forget to post your Keep Calm and Celebrate On card to our challenge. It's a great way to win free sets. Visit the Ai store for the sets I used and all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Have a great weekend!

Halloween Night Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a Halloween card featuring the new 5934 - Spooky Crew Set. This set has the cutest characters and I just love this little mouse!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring the little mouse and witch hat. I used the included coordinating dies to cut the images out and attached the hat with liquid adhesive. Doesn't this mouse look so cheerful in his pumpkin? I think he is adorable!

For the little scene, I punched out a moon and several stars out of glowing paper and attached a dark green grass for the ground. To give the grass a Fall look, I ink blended with a brown color to darken the green more and love how this color turned out.

For the paper, I decided to go with traditional Halloween colors and attached purple, orange, and black card stock layers. I also added a piece of fun pumpkin pattern paper to coordinate with the main image. I think these colors frame the center card perfectly!

Lastly, I embossed "Happy Halloween" with white and attached the card to a black card base.

I hope you are inspired to create a Halloween project using the new 5934 - Spooky Crew Set and are having a wonderful day!
