Happy Christmas Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a holiday card featuring the 4936 - Christmas Wonder Set and new 5782 - Snowflake Frame Die. This project was inspired by the current Art Impressions "Making Spirits Bright" Challenge and I love creating pet-themed Christmas cards!

To make the little outdoor scene, I stamped the animals and used masking paper to cover the image before ink blending the background. I also used colored pencils to add more color to ground and stenciled snowflakes with a glitter paste. I think the falling snow is so pretty!

To frame the center card, I used the new 5782 - Snowflake Frame Die. The frame fits around the trio perfectly and I love the snowflake pattern! I also added paw print pattern paper and layers of green and red card stock to bring in more holiday colors.

Lastly, I added an embossed "Seasons Greetings" sentiment from the 5566 - Christmas Sentiments Set and attached the card to a white card base to complete the design.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you will participate in the "Making Spirits Bright" Challenge!

Welcome Guest Designer Carrie Triner!

 Hello everyone!

Since we've shifted our Watercolor Weekend to Sundays and have 4 designers something rare popped up.  October has a 5th Sunday!

What should we do? No one wants a blank day on the blog.

We reached out to Art Impressions SUPER FAN Carrie Triner and she agreed to make us some cards.

If you're not familiar with her work, you're going to love it!

She created two Christmas cards, one with carolers and one with Santa and his crew.

Let's hear from Carrie herself.

Hello, my name is Carrie Triner. I would say that I am probably one of your biggest fans.

After loosing my mom I had difficulty letting her go and trying to move on.

I remembered my moms love for coloring and decided I would color to keep her memory alive.

It has been a journey that has allowed me to heal, while keeping her memory alive. I color nightly and call it my nighttime wind down. Up until til this year I colored every single night. Recently I’ve allowed myself a little grace and by not having to color every single night.

The first card  I’ve created comes from a memory of my children being young and

Anxiously  awaiting  the arrival of Santa and hoping to get a glimpse of him. One of my daughters swears she say him out from and climbing of chimney. For this card I used Sleigh Bells.

Cardmaking two takes me back to the first Christmas of my marriage and new home. Neighbors all got together to welcome us to the neighborhood by ringing our door and caroling in front of our home. It’s a memory I’ll always cherish. For this card I used Christmas Wonder.

I’ve been a huge fan of Art Impressions stamps for over 9 years. I believe my first stamps were 29 again and Hog wild.

As far as my favorite series, I absolutely loved them all. To pick one collection would be leaving out all the other ones I love. Your company makes it tough to choose a favorite. I’d have to say all of them. Recently I’ve been researching all your collections and stamps and got to see and know all the many collections you have made over the years.

So back to trying to choose a favorite, I’d say between Golden Oldies and Girlfriends.

Her first card uses 4936 – Christmas Wonder Set.

She created a gorgeous "window" card so that you can see through to the inside.

Her coloring is always so fabulous.  (I've followed her for a long time)

She usually creates fun Reels on her Instagram account. If you're looking for ways to index all of your Ai stamps, she's spent the last 5 weeks organizing hers and has shared on IG.

Her second card uses 5040 – Sleigh Bells Set.

It's also a window card but this one is different.
Don't the little elves look so happy and proud as Santa is
setting out for his midnight ride with all of the toys that they've made?

Her deep, rich colors are wonderful.  Creating such depth is something that alludes so many artists.

Don't you love how she added the gold cord as reins?

We'll see you soon Santa and hopefully we'll be seeing lots more from Carrie very soon too.

Christmas Came Early Challenge by Nina

Hello Ai friends, Nina here and today I have a cute slimline card for our current challenge "Christmas Came Early". I used Snowflakes Frames, Christmas Wonder Set, Christmas Truck Set (for the tree and Gifts) and Double Stitched Slimline Dies.

I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink using my Mini Misti and colored the images with a lot of Copic shades :)

Copic Shades:

Greens: YG95 YG67 YG17 YG23 YG01

Reds: R39 R27 R29

Yellow: Y08 Y06

Beige: E40 E42 E43

Greys: C0 C1 C2

Blues: B05 B02

Browns: E99 YR27 YR24

Black: C08 W10

I then cut the images and backed them with foam tape to give the card some fun dimension.

I used a die from Double Stitched Slimline Die Set to cut the background from white paper and then added some irregular inking with the ink blender and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. It was not a homogenous blending I wanted to leave some areas white since it is a snowy scene.

I die cut another piece of the background using the same slimline die and used the scissors to cut two hillsides of different heights.

I glued the taller hillside to the background and then attached the other one on top with foam tape to raise it with dimension which leaves a gap between both hills to tuck my images that I colored earlier in between.

I assembled my images starting with the house tucked it in between the hillsides and added the Christmas trees next to it. I attached one a little tucked behind the house and the other in the center on top both of them.

I then attached the adorable singing kids image to the other side of the card with their singing cat :) and finally added the Christmas gifts next to the trees.

I die cut some snow flakes from the snowflakes Frames die set and scattered some around the scene and finally finished everything with a scrap of light blue paper behind the whole panel.

Holidays Art Journal Series - Page 2 - by Nina

Hello Ai fans, Nina here and I am sharing with you my second page of the Holidays Art Journal Series that I started last week.

Today we are using the Christmas Wonder Set and Snowflakes Dies from Art Impressions.

I blended multiple distress ink blue shades on my glass mat and smooshed my background against it to create the sky. I then used a stencil and lightly pressed my ink blender on the stencil to give extra visual texture on my background.

I stamped the adorable kids, the light post and the little tree images with my Mini Misti and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored them with Copic Markers.

I cut two snowy hillsides with my hand and backed with different thickness of foam tape to give fun dimension to the art journal page and attached them to the page.

I die cut many snowflakes using the Snowflakes Die set and scattered them on my page after I glued my light post, the tree and the adorable kids images.

The cute snowman is from 4935 Sparkle & Cheer Set , The street lamp is from 4936 Christmas Wonder Set  , the sentiment is from 4938 GF Christmas Set , and the beautiful snowflake is from #5353 Large Snowflake Dies.

For the card, I used the Falling From the Clouds Die (available on Amazon) to string some white beads on it to simulate snow falling. You can see the invisible thread I used in this close up.

I also added some Diamond Stickles onto the beautiful snowflakes.

Christmas in July by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I was looking at my calendar and I realized that it was almost the end of July and I haven't made any Christmas cards yet! I like to get a head start on the holidays so I had to remedy that fast!  I used the Christmas Wreath Set 4791 along with the Christmas Wonder Set 4936 to make a peek-a-boo card.

I started by stamping the wreath and four of the holly images from the Christmas Wreath Set 4791 onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth paper. I colored them with Copic markers. I cut the wreath with the dies that are included in the set. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the holly leaves. I also stamped, colored and fussy cut the animals from  the Christmas Wonder Set 4936.  All colors are listed at the end of the post.

I attached the layer to the front of my card and used the inner wreath die cut to cut a hole through the center of the card.   I then foam mounted the wreath to the front of the card. I attached another layer of patterned paper to the inside of the card as well as a piece of white paper with the greeting along the top.  I positioned and attached the caroling animals so they could be seen through the front of the card.

Copic colors used :
Wreath - YG61, YG63, YG67
Berries - R81, R83, R85
Dog - E31, E33, E35, R20
Cat - W1, W3, W3,  Y23, Y26, YR24, R20
