Our new challenge is Tickle Our Funny Bone.

The new challenge is perfect for the new releases (as are most all of the previous releases!)
We're looking for projects that make us giggle.

Art Impressions recently shared 3 new releases that are exactly what make us laugh!
You can check them all out here.

Now that we've announced last weeks winners, let's introduce our new design team feature and Janet's darling feature!  She created this fun card that, let's face it, could be so many of us!!

Hello Ai fans! Today I'm making fun of my own frantic lifestyle for the Tickle Our Funny Bone challenge using the new #5513 Hot Mess Laugh Lines set. This set features a lady who has had a morning! She's collapsed into her favorite chair and has even spilled some of her most sacred energy drink - coffee or tea. Or maybe it's a little wine?? Who knows for sure? There are a huge number of sentiments included in this set. In total there are 18 possible thoughts this exhausted lady could be having! You're sure to find several that fit what you're envisioning.

To start this project, I first stamped the lady in Memento Black ink on to alcohol ink friendly cardstock. Her pants look a lot like my favorite sweats. They are purple with a white stripe on the sides so of course that's how I colored these pants! After I colored the entire image, I scanned it with my Brother ScanNCut and cut it with just a white border. You could also easily fussy cut this image or stamp and color it directly on a panel. There are many ways to get a similar result. By the way, I've included the entire list of Copic markers I used at the end of this post.

Before starting the background, I also colored and cut out a clock and a wall light from 5324 MB Wall Accessories Set. These little accessories are perfect for my scene. I decided to use patterned papers to create an interior home scene for wallpaper and for the wood flooring. I cut and glued the pieces onto an A2 sized panel knowing I would cut a smaller piece out with a Square Double Stitched Die. Even though this wastes some paper, I am ok with it because it eliminates the stress of making sure the paper edges were perfect. I selected the second largest die in the set and laid out my pieces to make sure I was happy with the proportion of wall to floor.

I stamped a sentiment on the panel that is the story of my life. It says, "I'm sure I'm late for something." I'm sure some of you can relate! I applied the finished panel on an aqua colored metallic cardstock cut with the largest Ai Square Double-Stitched Die. Then I glued that piece onto a chocolate brown A2-sized card base. Now my lady was ready to be enter stage right!

Below is a closer look at my tired lady. I get a real chuckle out of her. I hope you do too.

Hot Java Mama! by Janet

Hello Ai fans! I know there's a lot of people out there that wouldn't think of doing anything before their first cup of Joe. I would put myself in that category. Set  AICS32 - Hot Java Mama is one of Ai's sets that seems made just for me! I wouldn't say I look like this lady but I feel like she looks before my first cup of coffee most mornings! Notice her dark and puffy under eye circles. Oh yes, that's me in the morning!

After coloring and fussy cutting the lady image, I glued her to piece of pink cardstock and popped the whole thing up in the middle of the card so that the points of the triangle on the top and bottom are bridged.

In addition to the lady, I made the coffee cup and bean images on this card with two stamps included in the set. I had some perfect paper for the coffee them but adding the beans and cups really made it so much better don't you think? I just added a little bit of brown and gray copic coloring to give the cups a little more life. The beans were stamped with brown ink. Very simple!

Inside the card, I added a border of stamped beans, the cup and the Hot Java Mama sentiment. I think this would be a great card to send to a friend for almost any reason. Everyone needs to be reminded they're a hot java mama once in a while!

Coffee-Themed Birthday Card by Tasha

Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a new slimline coffee-themed card created with the super fun Hat's Off Miss Set!

This stamp set includes several hats, but this coffee one is my favorite; I love the straw too! The image was stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. This set also includes the coordinating dies making it super easy to cut the images out!

I wanted the background to be bright and unique, so I created a background with a stencil and blue Distress Oxide Inks. The sentiment was also stamped with a deep teal ink color to match the woman's outfit; I love these pretty blue shades!

To complete the card, I added layers of white and teal cardstock and a layer of mirrored paper. The mirrored paper adds a nice shine to the design! After adding all the layers, I attached the card panel to a white heavy-weight card base to complete the project.

Thank you for stopping over today and I hope you enjoyed this slimline card!

Be sure to check out the Ai Challenge for a chance to win an awesome crafty prize!

Pumpkin Spice Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a new Fall-themed card created with the super cute Feast Mode Stamp Set!

The sweet fox was stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I masked off the image and used two stencils to create the autumn background. I blended multiple shades of Distress Oxide Ink for the falling leaves and stones on top of cream paper. I love the warm golden shades!

After the ink blending was completed, I gently pulled off the masking paper and colored the Fox. This cute fox looks so happy enjoying the Fall day with his warm drink; I am so excited for sweater weather!

The sentiment, "Tis the season for Pumpkin Spice" was stamped directly on the stenciled stones. I'm a big fan of all things pumpkin and thought this was a great greeting for this card!

Lastly, I added coordinating layers of cardstock and a pretty orange plaid paper to complete the card. I also added some gold, white, and metallic bronze ink to the background for more detail. I love how this design turned out and can't wait to send it out this Fall!

Thank you for checking out my card today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A Latte Love In This Gift Card Holder by Janet

Hello and happy Saturday everyone! If you want to make something special to hold your gift cards but don't have the time or energy to put a lot into it, I have a great solution! I bring you the Coffee Gift Card Holder, #5222. First your recipient will be touched by the adorable coffee cup but when they realize there's a gift inside, they will FLIP their LID!

This is a stamp and die set that includes all the dies to make the coffee cup shape and decorate it. Stamps are also included that allow you to personalize your message. One offers check the box choices like: Congrats, You're the Best, Thanks, You're Spectacular, Just Because and You Deserve it. There are also two sentiments in a pretty script that say, Thanks a Latte! and I Love You a Latte!

The photo above shows two options. On the right, I've made the cup by itself. This could be tucked into a gift basket, slipped into an A2 envelope or added to a package by securing a loop to the back. On the left, I mounted the gift card holder on an A2 sized card. Any way you present it will be a winner. Just don't forget to tell your recipient to pull up the cup lid or they might not know there's an insert with a gift card inside! It hides the surprise really well.

Here's another version I made using washi tape for the background, brads and bling for an entirely different look!
Below I attached the stand alone coffee cup to another A2 card base. And speaking of card bases, I made a coffee inspired watercolor background with two Karin markers, a bit of saran wrap and some water. This is a super technique to create organic watercolor patterns. If time is a big factor, you can simply pick your favorite cardstock for the background.
I have a video tutorial demonstrating how I made these gift card holders and the watercolor, spattered backgrounds. I think you'll enjoy learning how to create a grand effect in record time.

Thanks for Stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Creating!
