Fun Foam Gift Card Holders by Janet

Hi Ai fans! As I do every July, my mind turns to the upcoming Christmas season. This week I decided to make some cute gift card holders. I thought I would try making them out of foam. I'm so glad I gave it a try!

The base of these gift card holders are the 5344 Envelope GHC Set. You can make any of the gift card designs using this set. There are separate sets that can be used to decorate this envelope. There are no stamps with these sets but there are tags and other fun shapes you could add to further decorate the gift card holders. I've made these before with paper and they turn out well. I recently picked up a large stack of various colored foam and I thought I would use the foam and see how they would turn out. I couldn't have been happier!

To make these, I cut pieces in the foam that would fit the dies that needed to be cut. Before I cut them, I backed the foam with wide double-sided foam tape. Once cut this made it very easy and quick to put them together. The dies were able to cut through the foam. If you're machine doesn't cut all the way through, try running it through 3-4 times. I have a Crafters Companion Gemini and it cut the pieces perfectly.

The snowman was created with 5340 Snowman GCH Set. He sure is a cutie!

Santa is pretty cute too. It was made with 5399 Santa GCH Set.

I think these will be very fun to give and receive. They're so happy and cheerful.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I invite you to check out all the Gift Card Holder sets available in the store. It's such a fun line to work with.

Wishing you a very crafty weekend!

Nailed It! Masculine Card by Janet Axtman

Hello Art Impression fans! It's Janet here with a masculine card that could be used for a thank you, birthday or congratulations card. I really love the new Ai Accessory Bags line which includes this awesome tool bag #5503 - Tool Bag & Die Set and all the tools.

This set conveniently includes the dies for all the stamped images. The bag die even cuts open the pockets so you can tuck any assortment of tools that you would like in it. It's so clever!

The sentiment is from the Hats Off Line #5406 - Mr. Set. I cut the sentiment with the #5064 - Circle Double Stitched Dies and the starburst mat is a shape from #5344 - Envelope GHC Set.

The background was made by layering a sunburst stenciled image over the top of a brick stenciled image. It really helps to bring the eye to the bag while also giving a lot of texture and color to the background. The finished panel was then cut with the largest die from the #5061 - Square Double-Stitched Dies.

I mounted it on gold metallic cardstock to create a frame and then I placed it all on a rich brown card base. I added the bag with foam tape to further make it stand out. To finish, I added a few gold enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you agree that this makes a super masculine card that any guy (or even a handy lady-wink, wink) would appreciate.

Wishing you a very crafty weekend!

Gift Card Holder by Nina

Hey everyone, Nina here back with a very cute gift card envelop all Spring colors.

I used this smart die set that creates your envelop and contains all the accessories to decorate it. Gift Card Holder Envelop. I used a double sided Spring fun paper, so when opened you also get colorful pattern on the inside.

The die creates side flaps on which I taped double-sided tape, scored them and folded them. I then folded along the middle line tp create the envelop.

I used the Coffee Die Set that coordinates with the envelop to decorate its front. Using the dies I cut from different cardstock to make the cup and decorate it, placed my gift card and here is how it finally looks.

Check below the step by step video tutorial.

PSL Gift Card Holder by Bri Firth

Hello Ai Fans - Bri Firth here! Today, I am sharing an fall themed project featuring the Java GCH set. This project is perfect for Ai's current challenge, "Shaken, Not Stirred". Also, this gift card holder is featured on my personal blog today, check it out here

I wanted to create a generic paper coffee mug look so I used the Pathway Slimline Stencil with Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide ink to decorate the coffee cup. I stamped and colored a pumpkin from the WC Harvest Set to make the java drink look like a favorite seasonal drink, a pumpkin spice latte! The "Just for you" sentiment is from the WC Sentiments 2 set. Finally, I used a neutral gray patterned paper for the GCH Envelope and attached the coffee cup with liquid adhesive.

Festive Birthday GCH by Bri Firth

Hello Ai Fans - Bri here! Today, I am sharing three festive gift card holders made for the Birthday challenge! These projects feature the new Birthday Cake GCH die set. Check out all the new 2021 products from Ai here. This card is featured on my personal blog today, check it out here

The Birthday Cake GCH die set contains decorative pieces that coordinate with the Envelope GCH die set. I die cut the envelopes with festive papers from the Pink Paislee Birthday Bash Paper Pad.

Pastel Cake
I used several oxide inks to blend the pastel/unicorn themed cake including: Shaded Lilac, Broken China, Kitsch Flamingo, and Cracked Pistachio. I used white glitter cardstock to create the cake icing. I used a gold shimmer brush to add glitter to the light purple cupcake and the candle flame.

Yellow Cake
For my second gift card holder I wanted to create a more simple cake with solid color cardstock. I used Mustard Seed ink to distress the edges and add the splatter effect onto the cake. The splatter effect was used to make the yellow cardstock look like spongey cake. I used light blue cardstock to create the cake icing. I used a gold shimmer brush to add glitter to the bright pink cupcake and the candle flame.
.

Rainbow Cake
I used several oxide inks to blend the rainbow themed cake including: Kitsch Flamingo, Barn Door, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Peacock Feathers. I used white glitter cardstock to create the cake icing. I used a gold shimmer brush to add glitter to the light blue cupcake and the candle flame.

Welcome to our Challenge Feature for this Week!

Janet has a fun and creative celebration project for our new card-making challenge!

Hello Ai Fans!

It's time for a new Ai release and Challenge!  Today I'm going to share two cards created with the fun new Laughlines Sets! These sets include either a lady or gentleman enjoying their favorite chairs. These come with a lady or gentleman and loads of punny sentiments to go with them.

The first set is called Rock On. I chose to use the sentiment, "Happy Birthday Rock On!" There are so many to choose from, it's almost hard to pick one. I made this card interactive. When the tab is pulled, the rocker actually rocks! It's a cool way to use this set.

As usual, I've made a video showing how this card is made. Check it out below.

I made another card with the new Laughlines set called, "Sit Back." This one features a gentleman enjoying his favorite recliner. I colored the recliner to resemble my Grandfather's brown and gold plaid one that my Grandfather loved. It was really fun to travel down memory lane when I made this one.

After coloring and fussy cutting the image, I cut the card pieces out of the same stamp pad. I love combining patterns and colors and using papers from one pad assures that the colors and tones work well together. I used the Ai Circle Double Stitched for the circles that provide a landing place for the man in his recliner. I also stamped the Recliner King sentiment from the Sit Back set.

After placing the background paper and circle mats on the card, I cut out the sentiment and a scalloped mat for it.

I wrapped strands of gray floss at the top of the card panel and attached the sentiment in the middle. Then I glued this panel on to a gray A2 card base.

If these two new releases were not enough, there is a new Gift Card Holder set celebrating birthdays this week. Here are two examples of what I made with this fun new Birthday Cake Gift Card Holder! The center gift card uses all the dies. You can see all the options available to decorate the cake. The other two were made by manipulating the dies to create shaker versions of the cake. I love how dimensional and colorful these turned out. Check back on Saturday when I'll show you how I made the shaker cakes for even more ways to use this set. Just remember that this set is designed to be used with the Envelope Gift Card Holder Die Set, sold separately.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look at the new Laughline Sets and Birthday Cake Gift Card die set. Be sure to check out the Birthday Card Challenge!

Happy Creating!

Java Gift Card Holder and Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I used the Java Gift Card Holder and the Valentine Bears stamp set to make a card and a gift card holder.  The Gift Card Holder series is great because they look great on a card.
I started by stamping the images onto Canson XL Watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and colored them with Daniel Smith watercolors.  I then cut them out. I also stamped the sentament and cut it out with the circle from the gift card holder set.
I cut out the coffee cup with paper from the Kaisercraft Magenta 6"x6" paper pad.  I cut the lid from white sparkle paper.  The band of the cup is cut from Kraft cardstock.  Once everything was cut, I put the coffee cup together with glue and added the bear with foam tape. For the gift card, I cut out a gray piece of cardstock with the Envelope Gift Card Holder die and attached one of the coffee cups to it.  I cut an ombre layer from the patterned paper using the A2 Rectangle Double Stitched Dies.  I also cut a piece of gray paper with the Banner Double Stitched Dies.  I attached those pieces and a coffee cup to an A2 card.  The final touch ws to add some Crystal Stickles to the coffee cup and greeting.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!
