Hello AI Fans!! I'm super excited to get to share one of the new Flip Card Sets available now at Art Impressions! These adorable felines are Christmas Kitties!!  I love me some red and green at Christmas, but I really enjoy making cards with non-traditional colors as well.  So that's the direction I took this time.  I just used some digital paper for my card. I always pick my papers first, before I color. That way I can match my Copics to my papers.  Of course I chose some gingham since that's the challenge!  Look at these cuties all colored up! They're so adorable!!  These flip cards are so easy to make!! The instructions are right on the die packaging.  I simply cut the papers to fit onto the card.  Since I'm a dimensional girl,  the Christmas Kitties and sentiment are popped up off the card using mounting tape.  To dress up the bottom, I just cut a strip of my cardstock and punched both sides with a border punch. Then added another little strip of gingham to it. I love how it gives it a lacy look.  Using my Bow Easy, I tied a bow with twine to finish off the front!  And a look at the inside.  I love making these Flip Cards!! Happy Birthday Sloth Flip Card By Jessica shier

Hello Ai Fans! 

I wanted to create some flip cards this month. The first one I'm going to show you is this Happy Birthday design using the sloth flip card set, which I paired with the Flip card die. 

I used various Copic markers (list below) to color in the sloths. Stamping both the front and back on to Neenah 80lb Solar White card stock.  I kept the shading simple and used a very limited amount of markers. I've said it before, but I love the full colored packaging of Art Impressions stamps because it gives you such a great example of how to color and shade! 

Once I was done coloring I fussy cut both of the sloth images out. I decided on a easy watercolor background using a Everyday Tintable from Concord and 9th. These have a emboss resist background pattern and I chose the herringbone for this card. I got out my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor set and used several of the paints to create this blue to green gradient wash background. 

While that dried, I used the Flip card die and followed the easy directions on the back of the packaging, to create a Neenah 110lb Solar White card base. I accidentally scored all the way across the card base instead of just the areas around the flip portion. Luckily it didn't cause any issues, with this design. The Sloth Flip Card set also comes with some fun sentiment stamps but this time I used the die words from the Flip card die set for the Happy Birthday, I die cut those using black card stock. Before I adhered the Happy die cut, I scored a piece of light gray card stock that is trimmed to cover the flip portion of this card. This gave it a decorative border and added some interest. It also helped to conceal the score mark. 

I trimmed a portion of the watercolor background down and saved the strip for the inside. I adhered the large portion of that to the front of the Flip card. Then attached the sloths over top, positioning them so it looks like they are holding up the Happy! I did the same for the backside of the sloths and the small strip of watercolor. I also used the black Kuretake watercolor paint to add some shadows to where the sloths are sitting.

Sloth Flip Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I have a soft spot for the flip cards and just keep making them.  These Sloth Flip Card might be my favorite.  I always seem to say that about the newest card I make until I make another one.  I can't be the only one that does that!

I used the Flip Card Die to cut the card base, but you could follow the directions on your stamp set to make the card base yourself.  The images were stamped onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. I was channeling my inner Sandy Allnock when I did the pile of leaves.  I masked off the bottom of the sloths and used the nibs of my markers to draw in the leaves. I used a fine tip Sharpie to draw in a very simple tree trunk above the sloths before I colored it in.

I wasn't happy with the fact that my Copic coloring could be seen from the back of the card, so I added a white layer to the back of the card. Then I added in the greetings with a Versafine Clare Nocturne Ink pad.

Rainbow Birthday Flip Card by Carol Hintermeier

Hello Ai Fans!!

Surprise!  It's not any old rainbow here--I have a fun rainbow OCTOPUS Flip Card for you today!  Yes, a rainbow octopus, why not I thought?  Haha!

  

I really had fun coloring this guy up in rainbow colors with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers!  I've listed the colors below.  I stamped him with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock.  For me, the Zigs blend the easiest on the Bristol Smooth.

The ocean waves were also stamped onto Bristol Smooth.  I used Versamark and heat embossed with some white embossing powder.  I tucked some coordinating sequins into and on the ocean wave layers for a bit of sparkle.  It's a bit hard to see in the photo but I added some clear sparkle to the cupcake, gifts, and balloon.

I added one wave border to the inside of the card for the octopus to float on.  The little cupcakes are also part of the stamp set.
