Watercolor Angels by Tricia

I am incredibly honored to have been asked to do a blog post for a recent set of paintings that I created with the new Angels set.  I originally wanted to challenge myself to think outside of the box and stretch my stamps. I thought I was creating Halloween costumes but it turns out after creating the backgrounds that is not necessarily what they turned out to be in the end.

Here are the before and after pics in case you missed my Instagram and Facebook posts.

Let's get a closer look!

First, we have this little dragon with her new mouse friend surrounded by a sweet pumpkin patch. The NEW Harvest watercolor stamps have the best pumpkins I have ever seen!

This cute little witch continues our Fall/Halloween theme. I colored her up like the wicked witch of the west and created my own broom.  I love these night scenes when I can just keep layering color to get more and more depth and make little stars, of course.

I was really torn on what to do with the background for this sweet bee, but then my new stamps arrived just in time and these hay bales were perfect.  I am in LOVE with the sunflowers and I know they will be showing up on lots of my projects.

I wasn’t really sure what to do with this sleeping angel so I decided to dress her like Minnie Mouse. I found a picture of Minnie’s house to hand draw her background. Makes me think that she must have been exhausted trying to get there.

Finally I have a snowy scene with this cute angel.  I extended her wings a little a placed her in a winter wonderland. Creating these trees is one of my all time favorite things to do in watercolor.  I should have gotten out the bleed proof white to add some snow to the branches.  Next time!

I had so much fun creating these scenes.  I was glad I didn’t rush through the process and just let the inspiration come.  Thank you so much for joining me and I am so blessed to be surrounded by such a talented, loving and encouraging community. I hope you all have a wonderfully creative day!

Freebie Frenzy! by ReneƩ Matarese

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing several cards that I made using some of the Ai Freebies.

What's a Freebie you ask?
Well,  every time you spend $30 or more at Art Impressions, you get to choose one of the current free stamps they are offering.  How fun is that!

My first 4 cards were made using the Spring 2022 images.

These two cards were traded to my neighbors little girls in exchange for two dozen farm fresh eggs.
I love living in the country!

During the school year I usually buy them an ice cream at the school cafeteria but during the summer they asked for cards to send to friends.  The frame is from the new 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.

The next two were made for friends.

I used the Hello die from the 5408 – ShadowBox Window Die

These are the current freebies being offered.  Be sure to get yours while they're available. These have become highly collectable.

I also FINALLY tried my hand at Watercoloring the Art Impressions Way with one of the new freebies!
It was so fun.  I have tons to learn but I'm pretty happy with this!

The grass was made using the Exclusive 2022 WC0922-WC Grass Line. The tree was made using 4964 – WC Branches Set and the leaves/flowers are from the Exclusive 5707 WC Wilderness Set.

Copics used on plaid beaver cards:
BG10, BG32, Y23, Y32, E23, E30, E37, R83

Tombows used on frog card:

Hello Fall Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a Fall themed card featuring the 4849-Celebrate Spring MFT and 5369-Feline Set.

The Celebrate Spring Set is an Easter themed set, but I love this interactive door and wanted to use it for a different season. I stamped the door with black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I used the included die to cut the door opening and used a stencil to create the brick detail.

For the background, I used the 4964 -WC Branches Set and markers to create trees full of colorful leaves. I also added a golden sky using Distress Oxide Ink and a cloud stencil; I love all the yellow and orange colors!

Lastly, I added a sweet little kitty to the inside of the doorway and attached a "Hello" die cut to the bottom of the card. The cat looks so peaceful sleeping on a pile of leaves!

Thank you for checking out today's project and I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Hoot Hoot Hooray! by ReneƩ Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a masculine birthday card.
I was recently inspired by the Art Impressions Challenge to combine sets.

I used the owls and verse from the 5179 – Autumn Owl Cubbies
and the leaves from 5100 – Woodland Tree Cubbies.
The branches are from 4964 – WC Branches Set.

The sentiment actually says Hoot Hoot Hooray Halloween is here!  Since I only wanted the Hoot Hoot Hooray part I only inked up that portion of the stamp.

On the inside I used the verse from the 4972 – Owl Flutter Set.

Copics used:
BG000, YG06, YG11, YG17, YG21, E33, E81, Y28

Watercolor Throwback - Pumpkin Cart Video

Hello Ai Fans!

With turkey and mashed potatoes calling our name this Thursday in the USA, we are bringing you a beloved Watercolor Throwback for Watercolor Wednesday!

We have LOVED this project for a full year, with colorful pumpkins and a great Thanksgiving image! May you be transported to a field full of a grateful harvest. Watch as Bonnie masks in the single pumpkins from our WC Harvest Set into our Flower Cart and adds vines around the pumpkins still in the patch!

We switched to Tombow Markers in January 2019, and although this video uses Marvy Markers, we have included all the links below for the updated colors! You can also download our Color Conversion Chart to see similar colors from both product lines!

Happiest of Thanksgivings from all of us at Art Impressions! We are grateful for the most wonderful customers over the last 32 years!
