Janet's Top 10 of 2023!

It's time for the team to share their top 10 favorite cards of the past year! This is such a fun week because I love being reminded of all the wonderful work the team has done over the past 12 months! It's also a lot of fun going through the cards I've personally made. I find it hard to rank the cards because they all feel a little like my children and how do you favor one over the other? I'm going to give it a try though. Be sure to follow the link to each post to read all about the card and the products used.

#10 - It's a Kitschy Kind of Christmas. I just love this lady and her ugly Christmas Sweater. So perfect for the season too. You can find the original post HERE.

# 9 - It's a Love Thing. This couple is so sweet and it's a fan favorite stamp set. See the original post HERE.

#8 - Age is Irrelephant. What could be sweeter than this adorable little elephant wishing you a happy birthday? The pastel blue and the gold is a pretty combination. You can find the post HERE.

#7 - Hello Beautiful. This one utilizes the Easter Journal Paper Pack and the freebie Hummingbird stamp. I love the movement and color in this one. Find the original post HERE.

#6 - V is for Retirement. V stands for vacation in this case. This may be a man but he looks like I hope to feel someday! I like the window in this one and the water vibes. The original post is HERE.

#5 - No Bait-ing Around. I named this boat the Seahorse because every boat needs a name! The boys in the boat really remind me of my husband and brother-in-law. The original post can be found HERE.

#4 - Don't Fence Me In Challenge. I really enjoyed constructing the picket fence front to this card. The cubbie set worked so perfectly on it too. You can find the post and instructions for it HERE.

#3 - Joyful Holiday Cheer. How could you not want to give this sweetie a hug? You might get cold but your heart would definitely be warm! You can find the post HERE.

#2 - It's Been a Tough Day. I made this one after working hard to prepare for my son's high school graduation party. It truly did represent how I felt at the time. Don't you love how Ai stamps can make fun of everyday occasions and situations? It's what originally attracted me to Art Impressions. The link to the post is HERE.

#1 - Believe - Easter Blessing. I adore this perfect little rural church window scene. It reminds me of my home church in North Dakota. I colored it with Copics but tried to mimic a water color look. Lutheran churches (my church denomination) tend to have a red door in case you're wondering  about the color choice I made. This post is located HERE.

I hope you had fun reminiscing with me. 2023 is nearly finished and I hope everyone has a great 2024. Happy holidays one and all!

Happy Camper Beach Bums by Janet Axtman

My family enjoys camping and we get out pretty regularly with our travel trailer. We live within a few miles of the beach and beach camping is the best camping in our book! When I saw the Happy Trails Set, I knew I had to have it because it mimics our own life so much.

For this card, I stamped most of the images in the set. There is a cute balloon and light string that I didn't use. There are six sentiments such as Home is Where You Park It, Happy Trails, Happy Retirement, Happy Camper and more. I thought the sentiment I chose was perfect for this very relaxed and happy couple.

I colored the images with Karen markers. For most of the images, I chose one color and used water to blend and create shading. You can get similar results from a water brush or the Karin Blender Marker. I prefer the control I get with a small round brush. After coloring them, I cut them out with the Brother Scan N Cut.

The sand is a piece of torn gold metallic cardstock. An aqua metallic cardstock was used for the sky. Bordering the main panel are bright blue and hot pink mats. The 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 slimline card base is made of lime green.

I used many neon colors on this card. Have you noticed that neon is making a comeback? It's a lot of fun for summer cards. What cards are you making with a summer theme? There's plenty of great sets to be found at the Ai Store.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Creating!

Girls Night Out!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a new card created with the Crazy Friends Set! I love these fun outfits and could not wait to create a Girls Night Out scene!

The images were stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. For the clothing, I used bright colors and added Glossy Accents to the boots and glasses to give them some shine. The glasses with the dots would definitely be a pair I would wear!

The background was created with a brick stencil and I used scrap paper and yellow Distress Oxide ink for the spot light. I wanted it to look like there was a light shining down on these two friends! I also used scrap paper to block off the brick wall to color the floor. These two are camera ready and look like they are having a great time!

Lastly, I stamped "What does "Age Appropriate" mean anyway?" with black ink and attached layers of purple glitter paper and bright green card stock to complete the design.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today's project!

Happy Trails | By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai Fans!

Happy 2020! I hope everyone had a fantastic and safe New Year's. I'm starting with a Birthday card to begin the year with. There is also a card process video below! I'll be using the Happy Trails set, the WC Tree Set 1, Tombow Brush pens and Copic markers.

I had the chance to attend the Art Impressions Warehouse Sale last November and took a class with Kendra. It was a lot of fun and I learned so much about watercoloring with Tombow markers and Ai stamps. I haven't had much of a chance to practice, so I thought I would give it a whirl for today's post.

Watch the card process video here.

As you can see in the video I also tried no line coloring using Copic Markers. Which is another technique that I would like to try more of. I used a light gray in to stamp the RV from the Happy Trails stamp set. Then colored with Copic markers. I have the list of colors I used below. I went ahead and fussy cut the RV out, since I had stamped in on to a piece of Neenah 80lb cardstock. I then adhered it to my watercolor scene with adhesive and finished up my watercolor shadows and also added a few more touches of texture with a grass stamp that I had purchase at the Art Impressions Warehouse Sale.

Tombow Markers Used:
133 Chartreuse
452 Process Blue
346 Sea Green
098 Avocado
636 Imperial Purple
493 Reflex Blue

Copic Markers Used:
W9, W6, W4, W3, W1, W0
C5, C3, E59, E57
Y38, Y35, Y02, YR27
G17, G14, YG01
BG78, BG75, BG72
BG18, BG15, V06

Thank you so much for joining me today!
Happy Stamping.

Top 3 of 2014 by Sherry Eckblad

Hello Ai Fans!

This week the Ai Design Team is sharing with you our top 3 favorite cards from the past year.
This was so hard for me to choose just 3 because each card I make becomes a favorite.

Okay so here goes in no particular order.

One of my first cards as a member of the Ai Design Team Yoga Yolanda.

My second choice is Hog Wild Birthday I love making shaker cards and have done several this year.

Finally my third choice...Birthday Couple. They just make me happy!

That is it for me and my favorites. I could go on and on but Kate said we can only pick three.

Happy Holidays and Happy Stamping!
