Bountiful Blessings by Dana Warren

Hello AI Fans!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!! My card features the new Grateful Hearts stamp set!

I stamped the cornucopia on white card stock, then I used stitched rectangle dies to cut it and some pattern paper. This was made with Lawn Fawn stitched dies, but Art Impressions has since made their own double stitched dies, you can check them out here!

Next, I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils. I don't have the list of colors any more, but I used like almost every pencil! Or at least it seamed like it!! Lol!!

I stamped the sentiment Bountiful Blessings on a strip of card stock and then notched one end. Then I added the colored image to the light yellow pattern paper and then to some Kraft card stock and finally a card base. Last I added a couple wood dots.

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy Stamping!!

Hello Watercolor Friends,

I made another Thanksgiving card for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend using the church and tree stamps from the 5058 - WC Church Set. The leaves on the trees is a stamp from the 4604 - Chest of Flowers Set and the grass is from the 4051 - Foliage Set 1. I got the idea to do the stained glass windows from Jann Gray who does Bible journaling videos on YouTube for Art Impressions. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Decorate your Thanksgiving Day table with my Wine Cork Place Card project for today’s Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend.

Stamp the small pumpkin from WC Harvest Set in 45 Sepia. Mask the pumpkin and stamp the foliage from the WC Foliage Set 2 in 27 Olive Brown. Watercolor the Art Impressions way by pulling the color from the lines with water and a paint brush. Scribble a combination of 45 Sepia and 83 Butterscotch onto your palette. Brush onto the pumpkin. Use the fine tip of 45 Sepia to add line detail around the edge. Trace the name onto your card in 45 Sepia using an LED Tracing Light Board. And finally, cut a slit on the top of the wine cork and slice a bit off the bottom to make the cork flat.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

For my project for Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend, I chose to create a Grateful Wreath in honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. I have created a quick video if you are interested in seeing how I created this card.

In order to create a symmetrical oval, I traced the inside of an oval die lightly onto my watercolor paper with a pencil. Keep this light so it doesn't show through your design.

Stamp one of the pumpkins at the bottom of the oval using the stamp positioner in Sepia. Cover the pumpkin with a mask and using the stamp positioner, stamp the other pumpkin next to the first. (In the video you will notice I did all of the stamping and then added the color and water.) Pull the color out of the lines, be sure to leave white space. This will create nice shadows. Using the watercolor palette, Add some Olive Green to the stems of the pumpkins and Brilliant Yellow to the highlighted areas. Layer Orange where the darkest areas would be. Again, be sure to leave white space in the highlighted areas. Use the fine tip of the Sepia pen to darken the stems and add shadows to the pumpkins.

To create some interest, I used a flower from the flower set as a leaf. I inked it up with Olive Brown and stamped it several times on each side of the pumpkins. I added some branches using the top of the branch inked with Sepia. I stamped it randomly on either side of oval leaving white space. Using the vine, I stamped it several times inked with Brilliant Yellow and Brown. I then added a branch with berries from the Mini Flower set inked with Sepia and Red. Dip your brush into the water and pinch it off. Work your way around the foliage using the side of your brush and dabbing (not painting) each of the leaves.

Add some blue to the middle of the oval where the sentiment will be stamped to add more interest.

I hope you enjoyed today's project, make sure you join my fellow design teams members on the Art Impressions Blog this weekend. We can't wait to see your projects! Tag us on instagram (#AIWatercolor, #WatercolorWeekend).

Have a crafty day and see you next time!

Thanksgiving Diorama Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

Now that Halloween is over I am looking towards Thanksgiving.  I decided to use the Full of Thanks Set from last years release to make a really simple diorama card.  It has several layers with a silly image attached to each one.  It folds flat to fit into an envelope, but pops up and sits like a little scene.
The images were stamped onto Spetrum Noir Ultra Smooth paper with My Favorite Things Extreme Black Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. The images were fussy cut and set aside. The background was ink blended onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Distress Oxide inks using the foam pads on the mini blending tools. It was spritzed with a Distress Sprayer and dried for the white splatter effect.  From top to bottom the colors used were Fired brick, Fossilized Amber and Tea Dye. Lastly, the Greeting was stamped on.
The Diorama part was made using two 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of 65 lb. Kraft paper.  Don't use really thick paper or your box won't fit together very well. Both sheets of paper were cut to 8 1/2" x 4 /12".  The two outer pieces were cut at 6 3/4" and scored at 3/4" and 6". One piece was cut at 6 1/4" and scored at 1/2" and 5 3/4". One piece was cut at 5 3/4" and scored at 1/4" x 5 1/2". The Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies were used to cut the openings, but any dies shape be used.  Tip : It is important to line the dies up with each other at this stage.  Cut the largest shape from the outside and line the next smaller die inside the cut area. The card base was assembled next. The smallest piece was attached to the next smallest inner piece with a liquid glue. The back edges were lined up with the window at the front. The outer piece without the window was set upside down and adhesive was applied to the outside of both sides of the inner pieces and they were attached to the outer piece towards the back. The card was shut to make sure everything moved correct.  Next, adhesive was applied to the outer portion of both sides of the inner pieces and the last piece was attached around it with the window facing out. The card was shut again to make sure everything was moving correct.  Lastly, the images were attached in place making sure the adhesive was only applied where they would be touching the card.  The finished card measures 6" x 4 1/4".

Copic Marker Colors Used:
Pumpkin Pie - YR00, YR04, YR07, C1, E70, E71, BG72, BG75
Dog - E11, E13, E15, E19
Cat - E70, E71, E74
Mouse - C00, C1, C3, C5, R20

Cornucopia Card by Jil lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I love fall colors, so as soon as the new release came out I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Grateful Hearts Set. I really wanted to color the large cornucopia image.  I chose to paint it this time, but I'm sure I'll color it many different ways in the future because it might just be my favorite image from this new release.  I'm sure I'll feel that way about every image from this release.  I was also really happy to get a chance to use one of the five new die cut sets that were just released.

The large image from Grateful Hearts Set was stamped onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Coffee Archival Ink and painted with Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors using a #1 brush.  The colors are listed at the end of this post. The image was then cut out with The New Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies.  It is mounted onto copper glitter paper and mounted again onto paper from the American Crafts Cedar Lane 6x6 paper collection.

Daniel Smith Watercolor Color's used:
Cornucopia - Burnt Umber, Raw Umber
Grapes - Quinacridone Violet
Large Pumpkin - Transparent Pyrrol Orange

Pepper - Quinacridone Gold
Eggplant - Cobalt Violet Deep, Sap Green

Dress the Turkey by Dana Warren

Hello, AI fans and Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

It's almost time to eat some turkey and pumpkin pie!! Art Impressions Full of Thanks, is a great stamp set to have on hand, for before Thanksgiving or after!!

My card features the dressed up turkey! Which I didn't release had pants on!! I thought he was just wearing a jacket and bow tie, didn't release it until I was taking pictures!! But, he still is looking good!!

I stamped him, the pumpkin pie and wishbone on some watercolor cardstock. With my Distress Markers, I colored him up, using: Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade, Rusty Hinge and Tea Dye. I cut out the turkey with a circle die and fussy cut out the pie and wishbone.

From a fall themed pattern paper pad, I trimmed up some scraps and adhered them to a Kraft card base, some at different angles, I didn't want them to be perfect. Then I added the circle, pie, and wishbone with foam tape over the strips. Last I stamped the sentiment in a brown ink.

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

giving thanks by Diane Zechman

Hello Ai friends and happy Monday!

Today I am sharing another card using the 4939- Full of Thanks set. This time I used the cute turkey in disguise!  I think he is the one giving thanks...for not landing on the dinner plate!

I used a Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks die for a layer to pop him up on and then added a few gold rhinestones for the "ground".

Have a great Monday and a wonderful Thanksgiving… happy stamping!

I made a shaker card for the Watercolor Weekend Round-up on the Art Impressions blog this weekend. I used the - Wooden Door stamps for this one. I love purple and green together so I made the door purple. I knew I wanted to add multi-colored lights on the house, wreath and fir trees which I made using the new 4960 - WC Fir Trees Set. I used a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to add that little bit of sparkle to the lights and the snow.  I just used the fine tip of the Marvy LePlume II pens to draw the multi-colored lights.

I’m excited to share this fun and festive last minute Thanksgiving project for today’s Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend – Personalized Turkey Place Cards.

Using a 3”x4” piece of watercolor paper, trace around a 7/8” button, set the button aside. Take the large straight pine bough from the WC Fir Trees Set and stamp one on each side of the circle (slightly overlapping the pencil line) in 82 Mustard, 13 Ochre, 88 Terra Cotta, 27 Olive Brownand 45 Sepia to create the turkey feathers. The final center feather is stamped once in 18 Dark Brown. Erase the pencil line. Pull the color with your watercolor brush and water. You can either hand write, stamp or print the name on the place card. I opted to print it. Measure down 1½” and score a line lengthwise across avoiding the stamped image. Use an xacto knife to cut out the top few feathers so they pop up once folded. On a small scrap piece of watercolor paper, stamp the large straight pine bough from the WC Fir Trees Set in 13 Ochre then cut into a tiny triangle for the beak. Next stamp the large branches vine WC Foliage Set 1 in 28 English Red then cut out one teeny tiny leaf for the snood (yes, I looked that up, it’s the red dangly thing on the beak). To assemble the turkey body, place two self adhesive pearls onto the button as eyes, use a small glue dot or glue to add the beak and snood. And finally, attach the body onto the feathers with a glue dot and your turkey is complete. Happy Thanksgiving!

I used the pumpkin stamp as a container for the fall flowers. I first inked half of the pumpkin stamp with African Violet and Sepia. I wanted my pumpkins to be white, leaving off the top of the pumpkin to allow for the flowers to spill out the front and sides.

I added the leaves in Brilliant Yellow, Orange and English Red. I softened each layer after I stamped it so that I could layer each color easily. I stamped the wheat (I think that i what it is LOL) in Brilliant Yellow. I softened it and then inked the Lily stamp up with Terra Cotta and Olive Green. I then added the branch with the red berries inked with Sepia and English Red.

I cut these out using a square stitched die. I cut a piece of Sweet Mango cardstock to back the middle image.

I created the background by using alcohol inks on photo paper. I cut the shadow of the Thankful die out of this layer. I backed it on a piece of Cranberry Tart cardstock. I cut the word thankful from Sweet Mango cardstock.
